Democrats Turn On Biden After Botched Afghan Withdrawal – Start Making Demands

The fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban just might be the thing that destroys Joe Biden’s presidency. Funny how it wasn’t the open border, rampant inflation, a wrecked economy, or massive government spending.

Americans, regardless of their politics, have been forced to watch the horrific scenes coming out of the foreign land. After 20 years of fighting for Afghans’ liberty, the country fell to our enemy in a matter of days. There is no other way to say it, this failure was entirely Biden’s fault.

Even liberal voters have to face that reality. Joe Biden ignored the warnings of many lawmakers and experts to hastily withdraw our troops. He left behind a reported 10,000 Americans and many more vulnerable Afghans, not to mention hundreds of expensive vehicles, weapons, and equipment.

The White House can spin or deflect as much as they can, but there is no erasing this colossal failure. Now, even Senate Democrats have been forced to act.

The Senate Intelligence and Foreign Relations Committees — both chaired by Democrats — will launch investigations into the “flawed” American withdrawal from Afghanistan, which left up to 10,000 American citizens and 40,000 allies stranded as the Taliban closed in on the capital city of Kabul…

On Tuesday, Menendez said that he would “seek a full accounting” of the “flawed execution of the U.S. withdrawal” through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

“I am disappointed that the Biden administration clearly did not accurately assess the implications of a rapid U.S. withdrawal,” [Sen.] Menendez said… He added that the Afghan army’s “collapse” was “astounding” and that “Congress was told repeatedly that the Afghan Defense and Security Forces were up to the task.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Not even Senate Democrats—usually mindless supporters of old Joe—can’t even dress up this disaster. While they still defend the removal of U.S. troops from the country (not an uncontroversial stance), they have to admit that Biden’s move resulted in the “collapse” of a country, where so many Americans are left in peril.

Two major Senate committees—the Intelligence Committee and Foreign Relations Committee—will be opening up investigations into what happened. What’s particularly interesting is how Sen. Menendez said how Congress was “repeatedly” assured that the country would not fall if we left.

This would have been from Biden’s administration and military officials who are tasked with updating Congress. It’s clear that Menendez and other Democrats have their panties in a twist over this false intelligence. Were they lied to by Biden? How could our military not have known this would happen?

We also have to keep in mind that Senate Democrats know that the blame train will eventually reach them. Biden is in the hot seat now, but Americans will demand answers from Congress too. And since Democrats are in the majority… they are the ones that will face the music. These liberals are just preparing their excuses now, so that they won’t get “in trouble” later.

Whatever the reason, in this one instance, Senate Democrats are doing the right thing. It appears that they will be holding the Biden administration accountable for the man’s massive mistakes. What they uncover in these investigations will not make Joe look good. And it will have repercussions, going into 2022.
