Leftist Bail Reform Emboldened The Christmas Parade Terrorist

A country poisoned by radical progressivism, such that something as basic as keeping violent criminals in prison, is now considered politically incorrect, has tragic and horrific consequences.

What the country witnessed in Waukesha, Wisconsin this week – the murder of five Christmas parade goers and countless other injuries – is a direct result of ‘woke’ leftism at work.

Darrell Brooks was arrested and charged with intentional homicide after running his SUV into a Christmas parade – a shocking event that has rattled the country.

Only weeks before, Brooks was released on a $1,000 cash bond after an arrest for domestic abuse. He was currently awaiting trial for a bevy of other crimes, including Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony Bail Jumping, Battery, Obstructing an Officer and Disorderly Conduct.

Still he was allowed to walk free after the liberal District Attorney in Milwaukee recommended such a low bail — and I think we all know why.

The black male suspect is the latest example of what liberals call “criminal justice reform,” which is really a phrase used to obfuscate what’s really happening.

Since the victims of the parade murder were white and Brooks is black, little is being said about the key facts of the case. Brooks is a criminal, a thug, an armed and violent individual who should’ve spend years behind bars for one of his numerous crimes. Instead he was given a (basically) free pass to freedom.

However, now realizing their mistake, the Milwaukee County District attorney’s office admitted they screwed up letting the Waukesha crash suspect out on bond just days earlier and announced an “internal review of the decision.”

Easy to say now that the blood’s been shed!

The office said they are “conducting an internal review of the decision to make the recent bail recommendation in this matter in order to determine the appropriate next steps.”

The office noted a prior July 2020 incident in which Brooks had been charged with two counts of Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Felon in Possession of a Firearm and cash bail was set at $7,500. Brooks was set to have a trial by jury and while still in custody in February of 2021, requested a speedy trial. The case was adjourned and bail was reduced to $500 after the court could not meet “the defendant’s demand for a speedy jury trial.”

Brooks was taken into custody by the Waukesha Police Department Monday following a crash that killed at least five people and injured more than 40.

Among the deceased include at least one member of the Milwaukee Dancing Grannies dance troupe, who posted on Facebook that “those who died were extremely passionate Grannies.”

It’s a heartbreaking tragedy that will undoubtedly be watered down by media figures simply due to Brooks’ race and the race of his victims.
