If you’ve been paying attention at all, these days, you know about the skyrocketing gas prices. In a matter of days, gas prices have hit historic highs. And many fear they will only get worse, with no end in sight. Working families are getting hammered, as they struggle to afford getting to work. Yet the Biden administration does not appear at all worried about this. They aren’t even doing a damn thing about it.
Not that long ago, Biden promised to “work like the devil” to lower gas prices. What has he done? Issued an embargo on Russian oil imports. That has only caused the prices to go up. A reporter asked him what he was going to do to fix it. Biden claimed, “Can’t do much right now.” And he blamed Russia for the problem.
Because, you know, a real leader always passes the buck.
Now, Sen. Ted Cruz is blasting Joe for this flat-out lie.
On Tuesday night, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed President Biden after Biden blamed the Russian invasion of Ukraine for soaring gas prices. A reporter asked Biden, “Do you have a message for the American people on gas prices?” Biden replied, “They’re going to go up.” A reporter pressed, “What can you do about it?” Biden answered, “Can’t do much right now. Russia’s responsible.”
Cruz fired on Twitter, “This is a flat-out lie. Gas prices have increased 48% under Biden—BEFORE RUSSIA INVADED UKRAINE. Biden did that,” adding, “That’s bc Biden: — killed Keystone pipeline. — froze federal leases. — shut down ANWR All, while Biden waived sanctions on Putin’s pipeline.” [Source: Daily Wire]
Let this sink in for a minute. Joe Biden really thinks the American people are this stupid. Gas prices have been skyrocketing the moment he entered office. Yet he wants you to think it is Russia’s fault. Um… Russia invaded Ukraine about two weeks ago. Prices have gone up 48% since Biden entered office in 2021. How on earth is that Russia’s problem.
Here are some of the things Cruz pointed out that triggered this crisis. Biden issued a ban on leases on federal land for drilling. That crippled oil operations in many states. He shut down drilling in ANWR, depriving the U.S. of our rich resources (which had little impact on the environment). He killed the Keystone XL pipeline, which could have supplied us with a steady stream of energy, even during war.
What Cruz didn’t mention (because Biden’s done so much to hurt us) was Biden’s extremely high omission fines for factories and refineries, which increased costs and limited production. That’s why your energy bill is so high, even if your state doesn’t use fossil fuels. Coupled with the supply chain crisis, the worker shortage, and other problems triggered by this administration, our gas costs continue to climb.
Putin did very little to contribute to this. In fact, if we were producing as much energy as we were under Trump, we wouldn’t even feel these sanctions. But Biden is determined to hurt Americans more than anyone else. And he’s willing to lie to your face about it.
Impeachment shouldn’t be off the table.
