We aren’t surprised that Democrats are exploiting the recent shooting to push their radical agenda. Before all the facts were in about the Uvalde shooting, liberals were pushing gun control. Joe Biden spewed the usual, unfactual nonsense—blaming the “gun lobby” and Republicans for the actions of one, lone evil killer.
But Biden and Democrats know they can’t get what they really want, a ban on gun ownership. So, he attacked “assault rifles” an inaccurate term usually applied to semi-automatic rifles. And he said this about law-abiding Americans who own them.
“What in God’s name do you need an assault weapon for except to kill someone?” he asked during his speech reacting to the school shooting in Texas.
The president repeated his talking point that owners of “assault” weapons like an AR-15 did not need them for hunting unless the deer were wearing “Kevlar” body armor.
“It’s just sick,” Biden concluded.

These comments illustrate Biden’s stupidity, ignorance on the subject, and utter disregard for Americans’ rights. AR-15s and other semi-automatic rifles are firearms, no different than any other. They serve a variety of uses for gun owners, the last of which is to “kill someone” (unless we’re talking about self-defense).
But Biden shows his hatred for Americans who want to protect their families and property with this idiotic comment. Americans apparently don’t share his sentiment, based on a new poll. Because they want more Americans armed, especially at school.
The majority of voters support arming teachers and school staff with concealed firearms, a Politico/Morning Consult poll found Thursday.
Fifty-four percent either strongly or somewhat support the arming of teachers and staff to respond to a school shooting. Just 35 percent either somewhat or strongly oppose the measure…

This is a brutal rebuke to Biden’s anti-Second Amendment policy. He wants to deprive Americans of firearms. But most Americans want to arm teachers and school staff—to prevent future shootings.
It’s clear what Americans think will end this epidemic of shootings. We can pass all the gun control laws we want. We can even try to detect potential shooters and improve “mental health” policies. But we know there is a present danger to our schools and other places people gather. Why not arm our teachers, to ensure a gunman is stopped in his tracks?
You know why gunmen never target police stations, shooting ranges, or hunting lodges? Because they know they will be killed for they draw their gun. These evil people target schools, churches, and shopping centers because they know nobody will be shooting back.
Americans want that changed, for good.
