Gun-Grabbing Democrats Destroy Second Amendment With Haste

House Democrats are making zero qualms about their intention to destroy what’s left of the Second Amendment.

Their plan is to disarm the population to the best of their ability using legislation and other legal tactics geared toward law-abiding gun owners, not street gangs or criminals.

The Democrat-controlled House of Representatives passed a slew of gun control legislation this week, including a bill that would raise the purchasing age of what liberals call “assault rifles”, such as the AR-15 and AK-47.

However, it’s unlikely that the Senate will take up this legislation package. Bipartisan negotiations are currently underway in the Senate. Republican Sen. John Cornyn is in talks with Democrat Sen. Chris Murphy on a gun control package that incentivizes states to pass red-flag laws.

Hours after the Uvalde shooting, Democrat lawmakers began preparing a gun control legislation package. Democrat Rep. Jerrold Nadler introduced The Protecting Our Kids Act shortly after and it was subsequently passed along party lines on Tuesday.

Not only does the package raise the purchasing age, but it also requires gun owners to store firearms in safes (or outside the home), and expands bump stock regulations. The legislation is wholly unconstitutional, as described by many Republicans, and multiple courts have already shot down similar anti-gun regulations, so enforcement of the Act is highly unlikely.

“All of us in this Chamber were shaken by the images of parents in Uvalde standing in line to match their DNA to the remains of their nine- and ten-year-old children — parents who should be picking their children up from school right now but who, instead, are picking up the pieces of their lives, shattered by this unimaginable loss,” Nadler said in a floor speech.

Like all Democrats, Nadler relied on explicit, gory details of the Uvalde shooting to rouse emotion before the vote. Never can a liberal speak truthfully and honestly about their plan to restrict the Second Amendment, it must be wrapped up in a histrionic, hyper-emotional plea for social justice.

As expected, the legislation passed along party lines (218-197), however, ten Republicans did vote in favor of raising the purchasing age of semi-automatic rifles. Following a request from 21 Democrats, party leadership agreed to hold separate votes on different parts of the package. Those members hoped that splitting the legislation up would help it retain bipartisan support.

If the Democrats’ anti-gun legislation is so urgent and necessary, why does the package contain six separate bills? This is the burning question raised by Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie who also gave a speech on the House floor.

“Why are there six bills in here? Because none of them work. You can’t take six bills that don’t work and put them together and make one that does. It doesn’t work that way,” Rep. Massie said.

Democrats are quickly veering off into dangerous territory and should proceed with caution if they hope to avoid another Civil War.
