Democrats Doom Their Own Candidate’s Chances Against Ron DeSantis

It’s no secret that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a powerhouse. The conservative leader has done what few state leaders do: keep his word. Since becoming governor, he’s made tremendous progress in the state. Today, there are more registered Republicans in Florida than Democrats—for the first time ever.

And thanks to his efforts, Florida is the top state Americans flee to when escaping communist blue states.

So, you’d think Republicans would have little to fear from a Democrat rival running for governor. But even liberal media hosts don’t think he has much of a chance against DeSantis.

[NBC News’ Marc] Caputo said he spoke with over 20 Democratic consultants, activists, and lawmakers, and “none of them give Charlie Christ much of a chance” against DeSantis.

“[I] ‘ll tell you what Democrats make of the odds — both consultants, grassroots activists, lawmakers and former lawmakers, all Democrats, some Crist supporters, some Fried supporters — I spoke to more than 20 for the article we just moved; none of them give Charlie Crist much of a chance,” Caputo advised. “In fact, a Crist adviser said to me that this is basically the Powerball election.” [Source: Breitbart]

Woah, don’t sugarcoat it or anything. According to NBC News contributor Marc Caputo, Democrats are putting Crist’s chances at beating DeSantis somewhere close to winning the Powerball Lottery. That’s not great, you guys. DeSantis is such a powerhouse, that over 20 Democrat figures in the state don’t think he has a chance.

But the signs are worse than that. Caputo went on to say that if Crist loses, chances are other Democrats running against incumbents will lose. And, for the first time since Reconstruction, there will not be a Democrat holding a statewide elected seat in Florida.

Just a few years ago, that was unthinkable. Florida was considered a “swing state” with a strong liberal presence. But all that changed massively after 2016 and 2018. DeSantis’s success has demolished all hope that Democrats can regain a foothold in the Sunshine State.

Republicans across America need to take notice. This is how you win back the country. Elected conservatives need to stick to their principles and get things done for residents. No compromises. No deals with the devil. Put Americans first and you will see the same kind of sea change that’s happened in Florida.

But is that possible? Will the rest of the party stop pandering to special interests and cowering before the left? Can conservatives retake states that are considered “swing” by the MSM?

Not if they refuse to do what DeSantis and a handful of other governors are doing.
