Liberal Judge Bans Conservative From Office – Want To Guess Why?

As a result of his protests against election fraud on January 6, 2021, Cuoy Griffin, a founder of the Cowboys for Trump group, was removed from his position as county commissioner in New Mexico.

Griffin was removed from office and forbidden from ever holding a public office again in Otero County, New Mexico by State District Judge Francis Mathew, despite the fact that he was never charged with any insurrection-related offenses.

According to Mathew, the defendant is legally unqualified and permanently prohibited from holding any civil or military office under the U.S. or any State, and includes his current position as Commissioner of Otero County, due to his disqualification under Section Three of the Fourteenth Amendment.

Griffin was removed from office against the wishes of the people by a coalition led by Citizens for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington and numerous New Mexico attorneys. Despite never entering the building, Griffin was found guilty of a misdemeanor for accessing the Capitol grounds on January 6. He was only incarcerated for 14 days.

The media has reported on the horrible civil rights abuses suffered by Trump backers over the protest on January 6:

A defense lawyer for a defendant who was sentenced on January 6 compared the way his client was treated to that of Soviet Russia and said he had “never seen such a flagrant disrespect for detainees’ rights.”

The lawyer stated in a document that the DC Jail is more akin to Solzhenistyn’s “One Day of the Life of Ivan Denisovich” more than it is to any reasonably respectable criminal facility.

Both the City’s Dept. of Corrections Director and the DC Jail Warden being held in contempt of court is “so absolutely humiliating” and “far reaching effect than Your Honor deemed proper, for other reasons,” they said.

The defense lawyer remarked that, since these Soviet-style show trials are being conducted by the dictatorship, the DC Jail has made it extremely difficult for him to carry out his job.

“Throughout my career as a criminal defense lawyer, I have worked all across the nation, but I have never witnessed a jail’s flagrant disrespect for the rights of inmates as I have at this DC facility. It was nothing but a covert attempt to prevent and dissuade convicts from obtaining the evidence in their own cases since I spent endless hours fighting through DC Jail bureaucracy just to learn how I might deliver Discovery to my client,” the lawyer stated.

“The flash disk of Discovery I gave was returned back to me without even as a single letter or note explaining why it was not handed to my client after I finally learned of the DC Jail’s criteria and properly complied. I still haven’t been able to find out why that Discovery was given back to me in such a bad way,” they added.
