Almost instantly, the leftist media and IT corporations locked tiny little arms and refused to acknowledge the existence of anything. The NY Times examined the laptop and discovered no indication of tampering, but said they could not really verify the emails since they could not even examine the sent email messages of sending accts or some such nonsense that they would never use as a benchmark before hitting conservatives.
Soon after the initial New York Post report, “a team of 51 former top intelligence officials” signed a statement claiming that this exhibited “all the hallmarks of a Russian information operation.”
Facebook and Twitter went into overdrive. The story was banned from being shared on Facebook. Twitter labeled the laptop material as “hacking” — because the definition of hacking involves leaving a laptop at a repairer, refusing to pay for the repair costs, and having the proprietor seize possession — and barred any connections to the NY Post piece from being shared on the platform.
