DeSantis Comes Out Strong In New Hampshire

Just days before his expected announcement that he would run for president in 2024, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis made a late-week trip to New Hampshire where he spoke with citizens, politicians, and the governor.

Following an hour-long discussion with DeSantis, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu reportedly claimed that the two of them had “a great friendship.” Former President Trump has come under fire from Sununu, who is said to be considering a long-shot run for the White House. Sununu claimed that Trump “is preparing himself to become a four-time loser in 2024.”

At his meeting with voters held at the Red Arrow Cafe in Manchester, DeSantis got a warm welcome from many people, who congratulated him for the work he has done in Florida.

According to The New York Times, DeSantis, 44, concentrated on speaking with Granite State voters on economic and family problems including school choice, tax cuts, crime, and inflation.

Earlier this week, DeSantis said on a call with fundraisers that he thought he was the only Republican capable of defeating both Trump and Biden.

“At this point,” DeSantis added, “You have essentially just three individuals that are considered credible in this entire thing. Trump, Biden, and I. Based on all the statistics from the swing states, I believe that out of those three, only Biden and I have a chance to win the presidency.”

DeSantis has been quite active lately, gathering up long lists of endorsements, including those from 99 out of 113 GOP members in the Florida state legislature, 37 state politicians in Iowa, and around 50 in New Hampshire.

DeSantis talked on a range of topics and many of the wins he has made as governor of Florida at a roundtable discussion with numerous Republican lawmakers who are supporting him rather than the former president in Bedford.

“These battles are difficult,” according to DeSantis. “I believe that there is a reason why everything has become so chaotic in our nation; many influential individuals and organizations are working to make that happen. When you choose to step out and speak the truth, you get a lot of backlash for that, but what I found in Florida was that not a single governor had ever received a greater incoming, I would add, in modern history, compared to me, especially when it came to COVID, although it actually went on after all that, and a lot of narratives were generated.”
