Biden Hospitalized With Life-Threatening Disease

Biden Hospitalized With Life-Threatening Disease

President Biden had a tumor on his chest removed earlier this month, and the White House doctor Dr. Kevin O’Connor informed White House Press Sec. Karine Jean-Pierre in a memo on Friday that the lesion was malignant.

According to the report, the biopsy revealed that the little lesion was a basal cell carcinoma, as anticipated.

The memo further states that the region surrounding the biopsy site was presumptively treated with electrodessication and also curettage at the time of the biopsy.

Lesions with basal cell carcinoma “have the possibility of growing in size, creating a more serious problem as well as increasing difficulties for surgical excision.”

According to Dr. O’Connor, the President will be continuing to get comprehensive dermatologic monitoring and that the biopsy site has “healed wonderfully,” she continued.

How recently was cancer found?

At the Walter Reed National Military Hospital on February 16, President Biden will have a skin lesion removed. As stated in the memo, the dermatological procedure’s tissue was sent for a standard biopsy.

How is President Biden being treated by doctors?

President Biden’s chest lesion was identified by medical professionals, who presumed to treat it using electrodessication and curettage.

The American Cancer Society recommends electrodessication and also curettage for the treatment for both “superficial basal cell, and squamous cell malignancies as well as some pre-cancerous skin lesions”.

The procedure starts with numbing the affected area. The tumor will then be scraped away using a tool called a curette. In order to eradicate any leftover cancer cells, the region will then be treated with an electric needle.

Does President Joe Biden have any cancer history?

The NY Times claims that the President has had a number of non-melanoma malignant tumours removed in the past.

President Biden made a puzzling remark about developing cancer in July 2022 while discussing climate change in Somerset, MA. In accordance with the transcripts, he stated the following at the time:

And what’s this? You were aware of what was going on during the first frost. The oil slick had to literally be wiped off the window, thus you had to turn your windshield wipers on. Because of this, a lot of the individuals I grew up with, including myself, got cancer. For a long period of time, Delaware seemed to have the highest cancer rates in the country.

Later, the White House emphasized that the President was making reference to prior cases of skin cancer.

What is the outlook for President Biden?

According to Dr. O’Connor’s memo, no additional therapy is necessary, and his medical professionals will keep an eye on him.

What details about basal cell carcinoma are crucial to know?

In contrast to melanoma or squamous cell carcinomas, basal cell carcinoma lesions don’t normally “spread” or metastasize, according to Dr. O’Connor’s research.

According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, BCC is the type of skin cancer that most frequently develops. In the US, 3.6 million cases are reportedly detected each year.
