Only with strong Republican leadership will we have a chance at correcting the massive amounts of damage done to the US-Mexico border. Any attempt to enforce immigration law is met with Far-Left shrieks of “racism!” until all efforts are abandoned.

Such is the case recently when Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas threw his Border Patrol agents under the bus after video emerged of what appeared to be them “whipping” Haitian migrants.

The claims were debunked; agents never whipped migrants. But their boss Mayorkas is punishing them anyway.

On Sunday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that he will hire U.S. Border Patrol agents if they are at risk of being fired by the Biden administration amidst the recent developments at the border.

In an interview with Chris Wallace (of all people) Abbott directly called out Secretary Mayorkas and “President” Joe Biden for “dereliction of duty” for abandoning efforts to ensure a safe and secure southern border.

Abbott said that his move to surge hundreds of state police officers to the border this last week was “when the illegal migration stopped.”

Not until Abbott filled in the gaps left wide open by the federal government did illegal immigration subside. That is until the Haitians arrived in Del Rio, Texas.

Texas is securing the border.

Biden’s own Border Patrol agents said it was the Texas Dept. of Public Safety & Texas National Guard that stopped the migrant surge in Del Rio.

When asked if he was overstepping his authority by effectively taking over immigration in the state of Texas from the federal government, Abbott said that he was doing it “because the Biden administration is refusing to do its duty to enforce the laws of the United States,” thus leaving Texas “in no position other than for us to step up and do what we have to do.”

Later, when asked about the Border Patrol agents who rode up on the illegal aliens entering the U.S., Abbott pointed to false claims that have been circulated about the situation.

“First, they wouldn’t have been in that situation had the Biden administration enforced the immigration laws and secured the border in the first place,” Abbott said.

Adding:

“Second, as you know, Chris, the person who took those pictures said that the characterization that the Democrats have made about the Border Patrol using them as whips, whipping people, coming across the border is false. They were simply maneuvering horses.”

As Maxine Waters and other Democrat whack jobs continue to push this whipping narrative, it raises major questions over whether the Biden administration could have potentially staged the border crisis to secure his political future with the Left.

Border enforcement is not a novel idea; it’s a common sense strategy to ensure national security. But, if you’re a president in peril fighting for your party’s far-left agenda, this is just the controversy to justify furthering open border policies.
