When the last U.S. plane left Kabul, Afghanistan, Joe Biden celebrated like it was a great triumph. Who else was celebrating? The Taliban, which claimed the country was now “independent” of those who fought to make it free.
The pathetic Biden administration claimed only a “few” Americans were left behind in the hasty, chaotic evacuation. But reports suggest hundreds, perhaps more, were stranded in the terrorist-controlled country. It seems Biden had no trouble abandoning his own citizens. From the very start of this crisis, he’s shown little concern about the nightmare he created.
But he is largely alone in his callous and cruel attitude toward abandoned Americans. Because newly released messages show just how outraged servicemen on the ground felt when they had to leave fellow Americans behind.
“We are f*cking abandoning American citizens,” an Army colonel assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division wrote Sunday in frustration in a series of encrypted messages that detailed the failed effort to extricate a group of American citizens…
“We had them out there waving their passport screaming, ‘I’m American,’” [Former Special Forces] Michael Yon said…
“People were turned away from the gate by our own Army,” Yon said…
“Three empty jets paid for by volunteers were waiting for them. You and I talked on the phone. I told you where they were. Gave you their passport images. And my email and phone number. And you left them behind.” [Source: Just the News]
The messages reveal just how frustrated and angry our men on the ground felt as U.S. military officials rejected or abandoned Americans seeking flights home. Even with proof of their identity—passports and other documents—those in command turned their backs on them.
In fact, the army claimed they could not take in these Americans saying, “the Department of the State tells us we can’t do it.”
Really? Because after fleeing Afghanistan, the U.S. military claimed the State Department would work “very hard” to get out any American citizen still in the country. But when they had actual planes in the airport, the State Department was preventing the army from accepting these Americans.
In one exchange, it was revealed that private-funded planes—which were sent by civilians to rescue stranded Americans—were left empty. The U.S. military would not allow Americans to enter the airport and board the planes.
Don’t believe anything Biden or his administration says about this evacuation. It was a disaster from start to finish. It is painfully clear Biden just wanted to get it over with and move on. The last thing on his mind was getting out every last American, after he handed Afghanistan over to the wolves.
It was a horrible thing he did, a betrayal of the American people. If Congress doesn’t do anything about it, the American voter surely will.
