While meeting with the Mexican president and other dignitaries in Mexico, reporters tried to gain answers from Joe Biden.
They asked, “Any reaction to the finding of secret information at your office?” However, Biden refused to respond to any queries, and after that, his staff ejected reporters from the room.
I discussed how President Donald Trump reacted by speculating about whether the FBI would now raid Joe Biden’s homes to see if he had any additional documents, as well as how Rep. James Comer (R-KY), head of the House Oversight Committee, demanded clarification and referred to it as a “two-tier system of justice.”
Some of Biden’s earlier views are now coming to light as a result of the discovery of the records. On August 26 of last year, Biden once defended carrying home confidential information, saying he was doing so to study them.
“Depends on the situation. For instance, I have a perfectly secure area that is cordoned off in my house. I’m bringing the Presidential Daily Brief home with me today. I have military personnel with me. I read it, then I secure it and return it to the military.”
“What if I don’t have access to a facility where I can read sensitive documents?” A reporter questioned, “Is it ever appropriate to bring documents home?”
Biden answered, “It depends on the paper and on how secure.”
I believe it to be a problem and that, presuming he didn’t remove the documents on purpose, that could be how he came to possess them since he didn’t return them.
As she clarified on Monday, Biden also spoke to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell from that exact office in the Penn Biden Center in Feb. 2018, which would have been just as the Center was opening. However, Biden asserted at the time that he no longer had access to sensitive material. Except for the papers up there in that closet, whoops.
Although Biden may make an effort to sidestep the issue, it won’t be forgotten any time soon.
