Word has come out this week that, after negotiations with Sen. Joe Manchin failed, Biden’s “Build Back Better” spending bill was put on the shelf. This is a huge win for Americans who, you know, like not being poor. Biden’s signature agenda would put millions on welfare, raise taxes on working families, while helping rich Democrats get richer.
But this crushing defeat hasn’t stopped Democrats from trying to ruin the country. Already news is coming out that Biden is now shifting to a bill that would destroy our elections. A bill that passed in the House could end up eliminating any protections against voter fraud. But even before they bring it up again, one moderate is slamming the breaks on it.
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) on Thursday wrecked President Biden’s hopes of destroying federal election integrity laws, causing Democrats to panic heading into the 2022 midterms.
While Biden on Wednesday was forced to shelve his massive tax and spend package until next year because of Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) opposition, Biden immediately pivoted to enact his second priority of altering election integrity laws, such as doing away with popular voter ID constraints…
But Sinema singlehandedly burst Biden’s desperate attempt to weaken election integrity laws Wednesday evening by stating she will protect the 60-vote filibuster threshold. Fifty Senate votes are needed to trash the filibuster. If the filibuster is terminated, a simple majority vote could be held to destroy election laws. [Source: Breitbart]
With Biden’s spending bill faltering, the corrupt cabal that is the Democratic Party is back to trying to destroy our elections. Following Hillary Clinton’s lead that another Trump win would destroy “democracy,” the left’s narrative is now about protecting “voting rights,” by passing a bill that would legalize voter fraud.
Democrats’ agenda is one that would make mail-in ballots universal. They would eliminate voter ID laws across the country. They would rob state lawmakers from drawing congressional districts (which is in the Constitution). And they would make it much easier for non-citizens and illegal aliens to vote in our elections.
The bill in question would destroy any semblance of fair and open elections. Not only would it allow fraud, but it would discourage actual voters from going to the polls—the real goal of the left’s agenda. Much like how third world dictatorships operate, Democrats would eliminate our democracy to ensure they won every election.
The only thing stopping them is the fact that it requires 60 votes in the Senate to move from debate to voting on a bill. This “filibuster” rule will make it impossible for Democrats to get this law passed, since they need at least 10 Republicans to support it. So, they just want to get rid of the filibuster, allowing them to pass whatever bills they want.
Moderate Democrat Kyrsten Sinema has already thrown a wrench in their plans. She has once again stated her commitment to upholding the filibuster, even as Democrats fight to kill it. She is most likely not the only Democrat in support of this rule. Joe Manchin has also stated he will not eliminate it, knowing it is the only thing that gives the minority party a voice.
So, Democrats will have to find another way to destroy our democracy.
