With nearly 8 million followers on his Big Tech social media platforms – and even more podcast viewers – Joe Rogan’s influence is unmistakable.
Everyone knows someone who listens to Joe Rogan, if they don’t already listen themselves. His humorous, conversational style of long-format interviews allows listeners to take in information spanning multiple topics which are not bound to antiquated partisan politics.
Rogan insists on free speech at all costs and censorship is surely a hot button issue for the podcasting comedian.
A surge of censorship recently prompted Rogan to explore Twitter’s main competitor.
Over the weekend Rogan announced that he’s joined social media platform GETTR, a free speech social media platform started by a former Trump associate.

On GETTR, the host suggested his move to newer website was predicated by recent censorship from Twitter.
The announcement from Rogan, who has a stunning 7.8 million followers on Twitter, sparked his name to trend Sunday afternoon and evening for hours.
Did @joerogan just end twitter?

Last week, Twitter banned Dr. Robert Malone days before he appeared on Rogan’s podcast to discuss the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines. Malone, a contributor to mRNA vaccine technology, also opened a GETTR account.
Additionally, on the same day Rogan made his announcement about GETTR, Twitter permanently banned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for allegedly sharing vaccine “misinformation.”
Twitter confirmed the ban and will continue in their censorious ways against anyone who dare question the COVID narrative thrusted upon us by fascist Democrats and their public health cronies.
On other social media platforms, like Telegram, Greene responded by highlighting Twitter’s inconsistent rules.
“Maxine Waters can go to the streets and threaten violence on Twitter, Kamala and Ilhan can bail out Black Lives Matter terrorists on Twitter, CNN and the rest of the Democrat Propaganda Media can spread Russia collusion lies, and just yesterday the Chief spokesman for terrorist IRGC can tweet mourning Soleimani, but I get suspended for tweeting VAERS statistics,” the representative posted. “Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth.”
Former Trump adviser Jason Miller launched GETTR in the summer as a platform “independent from social media monopolies, independent from cancel culture; embracing free speech.”
According to Miller, it only took GETTR three days to reach one million users while Twitter needed 24 months and Facebook about a year to achieve the same usership.
“I think what this shows is just the appetite that is there for a platform that doesn’t censor for political beliefs,” Miller said.

The addition of Joe Rogan to GETTR is huge win for free speech and anti-censorship movements that, at one point in this country, weren’t tied to any political ideology and was a unifying force across the aisle.
