Civil War Poll – How Many Americans Side With Texas

The ongoing conflict between Texas and the Biden administration over border security has garnered significant public support for Texas. According to a Rasmussen Reports survey, a substantial 69% of likely U.S. voters favor Texas’ actions to erect barriers at the border to prevent illegal immigration. This support is not limited to one demographic or political group; it extends across various segments of the population, including 53% who strongly support Texas’ measures.

The survey’s internals reveal a notable trend: a majority of 51% of black voters are siding with Texas, while only 32% oppose. Independents are also largely in agreement, with 66% supporting Texas’ efforts compared to 27% who are against it.

Additionally, the survey addressed the Supreme Court decision allowing the Biden administration to remove barriers erected by Texas. The results showed a closer split: 46% of respondents approved of the Supreme Court’s decision, while 49% disapproved.

The poll also found significant support for the statement by Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA), asserting that the federal government is staging a civil war and that Texas should stand its ground. Here, 55% of likely voters agreed with Higgins, while only 36% disagreed. This sentiment was echoed by a substantial portion of black voters, with 48% agreeing and 42% disagreeing.

These findings suggest that the public is increasingly concerned about border security and immigration policies. The support for Texas’ actions reflects a growing frustration with the federal government’s handling of the border crisis. It appears that many Americans, regardless of race or political affiliation, recognize the need for more robust border security measures.

The implications of these survey results are significant. They indicate a potential shift in public opinion regarding immigration and border security, which could influence future policy decisions and political strategies. The strong support for Texas’ actions might encourage other states to adopt similar measures or pressure the federal government to reassess its approach to border security.

The Rasmussen Reports survey highlights a clear public mandate for more stringent border security measures, with Texas’ actions receiving widespread approval from a diverse cross-section of American voters.
