Actress Goldie Hawn has said that she is “never without” a security guard after two home burglaries in as many months, raising the possibility that she may eventually leave the “awful” city of crime behind.
Breitbart News stated that Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera program this week featured information on consecutive burglary attempts.
The veteran of Hollywood said she “couldn’t believe” that her house, which she shares with actor Kurt Russell, had once again become a target of violence.
“I remember thinking, ‘What is happening here?’ I couldn’t believe it.”
Hawn has now hired security around the clock to ensure that she and her family members are safe in a city that is becoming notorious for its high crime rate.
She said to Ripa, “I’m never alone without a guard, especially when I’m alone.”
The Demise Turns Into Her actress claims that she has a “great relationship” with the unidentified security personnel and feels “wonderful” about having a guard around.
After years of dealing with “awful” Los Angeles, she stated that she and Russell are now residing in Palm Desert, California, 131 miles outside of Los Angeles. She admitted they finally feel “secure” there.
Hawn and Russell, who have been dating since 1983 and have a 37-year-old son named Wyatt Russell, used to live in Pacific Palisades and Malibu in Los Angeles.
They also own residences in New York City and Colorado.
The LA Times reports that between 2020 and 2022, California lost approximately 500,000 citizens. It was the fourth-largest decline in the nation during that time, only behind Louisiana, New York, and Illinois.
In recent years, a number of celebrities have left the once-golden state, including Jim Carrey, Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone, Rob Schneider, Joe Rogan, and Matt Damon. Many of them established roots in Texas, Nevada, and other states, with the condition that they remain outside of Los Angeles.
