Iran Taunts With Nuclear Threat, Biden’s Weakness Exposed

Iran is openly flaunting its capability to enrich uranium up to 90 percent—the threshold for nuclear weaponry—and the Biden administration’s feeble foreign policy legacy still haunts American national security. The latest brazen claim from Tehran comes from Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a prominent Iranian parliamentarian, who made clear on Iranian television: “We can do that.” Iran, he insists, will enrich uranium at whatever level it deems necessary, dismissing President Trump’s demands for zero enrichment as “delusional.”

Let’s be crystal clear here: Iran’s claim of peaceful nuclear ambitions is laughably transparent. It’s a charade that even the most naive among us should see through. Boroujerdi casually mentions needing enriched uranium at bomb-grade levels for “ocean liners,” a ludicrous pretense that insults the intelligence of the international community. Make no mistake—there is absolutely zero civilian need for uranium enriched at 90 percent. This is nuclear brinkmanship, plain and simple.

The current tension follows decisive joint Israeli and American strikes aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. President Trump’s decisive approach is a sharp contrast to the appeasement and weakness shown by his predecessor Joe Biden, whose disastrous Iran policy emboldened Tehran’s regime. Trump’s recent comments in Florida underscore this resolve: “We had tremendous success with Iran… They’re so bombed out. That place was decimated. It’ll be years before anyone can even get down there.”

Yet, despite the damage inflicted by these recent strikes, Tehran refuses to capitulate. Iran’s defiance suggests a desperate regime willing to risk catastrophic escalation rather than relinquish its nuclear ambitions. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has long expressed concern over Iran’s undeclared nuclear activities, and Director General Rafael Grossi estimates that recent strikes have set the Iranian nuclear program back by several months. However, the troubling reality remains: Iran is dangerously close to weaponizing its uranium stockpile.

Iran will enrich uranium based on its needs, without adhering to any conditions, said Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Iranian TV. He remarked that Iran might need 90% enriched uranium for nuclear fuel for its ocean liner, asserting that the only “red line” is the atomic bomb. Boroujerdi criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s demands for zero enrichment as “delusional”.

Our national security cannot depend on the dubious assurances of a regime that has repeatedly funded terrorism, threatened Israel’s existence, and lied repeatedly about the nature of its nuclear ambitions. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claims a religious prohibition against nuclear weapons, but history tells us clearly: Iran’s word is worthless. The regime has consistently violated international agreements, including misleading the IAEA inspectors tasked with ensuring compliance with the Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Israel, understanding the existential threat posed by a nuclear-armed Iran, refuses to tolerate Tehran’s nuclear ambitions. Israel’s Ambassador to France, Joshua Zarka, minced no words when speaking to the Associated Press: Iranian nuclear scientists targeted by covert operations “were killed not because of the fact that they knew physics, but because of the fight that they were personally involved in, the creation and the fabrication and the production of a nuclear weapon.”

Meanwhile, the Biden-era advocates of appeasement are working overtime to reignite failed diplomacy, with Italy and Oman once again attempting to mediate between the U.S. and Iran. But diplomacy without strength is meaningless. The Trump administration’s forceful approach is exactly what’s required: unyielding pressure, decisive military action when necessary, and zero tolerance for nuclear proliferation.

The path forward requires vigilance and resolve—not wishful thinking and empty diplomacy. President Trump must continue to send an unmistakable message: America will never allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. The stakes are too high for weakness. Iran’s provocative statements underscore the urgent necessity for America First policies: secure borders, a strong military, and unwavering support for our allies like Israel. Only by maintaining a position of strength can we ensure the security of our nation and prevent catastrophic global escalation.
