For years, Jimmy Kimmel has mocked everyday Americans, sneered at conservatives, and treated God-fearing patriots like second-class citizens. But now the tables are turning. After he told a disgusting lie about the man accused of murdering Charlie Kirk, Kimmel has been slapped with an “indefinite suspension” from ABC. And that’s not the end of it. Some of the country’s biggest ABC affiliate owners are refusing to air his show until he apologizes directly to Erika Kirk and her children.
Let’s be clear: Charlie Kirk was murdered in cold blood, leaving behind a wife and two young kids. Instead of showing even a shred of human decency, Jimmy Kimmel chose to go on national television and mock the situation. Worse, he lied. He claimed the accused killer was part of the “MAGA gang,” even though all the evidence points to the opposite. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, has a history of far-left activism. But that didn’t stop Kimmel from twisting the truth to attack conservatives.
And when President Trump expressed heartfelt sorrow over the loss of his friend, Kimmel ridiculed him too. “This is not how an adult grieves,” he said, comparing the President’s grief to a child losing a goldfish. That’s not comedy. That’s cruelty.
Americans are sick of it. This kind of venom from the Hollywood elite is nothing new, but for once, there are consequences. ABC was forced to act after FCC Chairman Brendan Carr and a wave of conservatives spoke out. But it wasn’t just pressure from Washington. Two of ABC’s largest affiliate groups — Sinclair Broadcast Group and Nexstar — decided enough was enough. They pulled the plug on Kimmel’s show in their markets, and Sinclair made it clear they won’t bring it back unless Kimmel apologizes.
Jason Smith, Sinclair’s vice chairman, said it best: “Mr. Kimmel’s remarks were inappropriate and deeply insensitive at a critical moment for our country.” He went on to demand a direct apology to the Kirk family and a meaningful donation to Turning Point USA. That’s real accountability.
Nexstar also criticized Kimmel’s comments as “offensive and insensitive,” saying they don’t reflect the values of the American people. In total, Sinclair and Nexstar control over 60 ABC affiliates. That means even if Kimmel comes back, roughly one out of every four ABC stations won’t air his show unless he makes things right. That’s a big hit for a host who’s already alienated half the country — and costs the network $16 million a year.
This is what happens when leftist elites forget who they’re talking to. Kimmel may think he’s talking to a studio audience in Los Angeles, but he’s really talking to millions of Americans across this great nation who love their country, their faith, and their families. And we’re done being insulted.
This isn’t about censorship. This is about truth. Jimmy Kimmel lied about the murder of a good man. He mocked the pain of a grieving family. And now he finally has to face the music. If he wants his job back, he needs to do the right thing: stand up, look Erika Kirk and her children in the eye, and apologize. Not some watered-down PR statement. A real apology. One that shows he understands the damage he’s done.
And if that’s too much for him, then let him walk away. America doesn’t need another late-night host who spits on our values. We need truth-tellers. We need courage. And we need to remember that free speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences.
Charlie Kirk stood for God, country, and liberty. He deserves better than to be slandered by a Hollywood millionaire who thinks mockery is a virtue. The American people are watching. And we’re not going to let this one slide.
