At a rally in Philadelphia this week to welcome Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) as Kamala Harris’s running mate for vice president, Democrats yelled “Lock him up!” after she made mean comments about former President Trump.
Karris said the same part of her speech that she gave at the Democratic Party offices last month.
At that time, she said:
“As many of you know, I was elected Attorney General of California before I was elected Vice President and Senator of the United States. Before that, I was a lawyer in a courtroom. In those roles, I engaged in legal battles against a variety of criminals. Men preyed on women, swindlers stole from customers, and cheaters broke the rules to achieve their desired outcomes. Because of this, please believe me when I say I know Donald Trump’s style. During this race, I will happily compare my record to his.”
“Many of you are aware that my election as a district attorney preceded my selection as vice president or senator. [Applause] Before that, I worked as a lawyer in court. In those roles, I portrayed a variety of villainous characters. [Applause] I portrayed men who specifically targeted and attacked women. [Boos] Scammers who took advantage of people. [Boos] People who broke the rules to get what they wanted. Hey, listen up: [boos] I know the kind of person Donald Trump likes.”
CROWD: Lock him up! Lock him up!
Harris had a challenging time getting back in charge. She didn’t disagree with the crowd; all she did was say, “Hold on.” Wait a minute.
Later, when Walz talked about “crimes” Trump “committed,” the crowd chanted “Lock him up!” again.
Both the state and federal governments are prosecuting Trump for what critics say are political reasons. According to the charges against Trump in Manhattan next month, he failed to report the money he paid Stormy Daniels as campaign costs under a non-disclosure agreement. It’s amusing that while Harris was Attorney General of California, the state paid out $1.1 million in settlements for sexual harassment. Recently, the family babysitter caught Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, having an affair, ending his first marriage.
Many Trump fans vote for him because they believe that criminalizing justice is a good thing.
Many people at Trump events shouted “Lock her up!” during the 2016 election in reference to Hillary Clinton and how she avoided facing criminal charges for misusing government emails and classified information.
However, when he became president, Trump was kind and didn’t want to pursue the opposition. Under President Joe Biden, Democrats didn’t care about these things and went after Trump and his followers at every level.
