Playing politics as usual.
Just when you think perhaps a politician has some goodness left, they show you who they really are.
Such is the case with moderate West Virginia Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin — a man who should not be trusted under any circumstance.
On Thursday, Manchin claimed he was willing to switch parties and change his affiliation to an independent as to not become an “embarrassment” for the Democrat Party.
Manchin is at the heart of an intense round of negotiations with the White House and far-left lawmakers, both of which hope to jam Biden’s spending bill with as much social welfare spending as possible.
The West Virginia Democrat is more clever than he looks; he isn’t the well-meaning politician hoping to do right by his constituents; he’s angling for political capital before eventually giving into Biden and the far-left.
The question is: what will they offer Manchin before he caves.
“Me being a moderate centrist Democrat if that causes you a problem, let me know, and I’d switch to be an independent, but I’d still be caucusing with Democrats,” he said.
It was rumored this week that Manchin was leaving the Democrat Party after months of tense negotiations on Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ scam.
Manchin was quick to deny the rumors, possibly indicating that the leak came from his camp — a clever move for a lawmaker currently in negotiations.
“I have no control of rumors, guys. No control of rumors,” he claimed.
Everyone should ask themselves, who started the rumor? Who’s pushing the rumor? Did anyone get a recording of @Sen_JoeManchin saying anything like the rumor claims?

Jack Posobiec, leading conservative journalist, was among the first to catch on to Manchin’s strategy.

Meanwhile, Manchin is negotiating with Biden and the far-left on the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package.
On Tuesday, Biden reduced the topline number to around $2 trillion presumably to coax Manchin into supporting the largest welfare package since Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society legislation in the 1960s.
And we all know what happened after that monstrosity passed.
