“Wrong argument? The president, unfortunately, is suffering from a cold. Whoa, that was COVID instead of a cold! Yes, that is all.
Following the release of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, administration flaks had to step up their game. Democrats said that Hur was a political hack and attempted to use executive privilege to conceal the tapes, despite the fact that this evidence showed the president wasn’t performing at his best.
The Department of Justice then attempted to deny having access to some of the most incriminating audio that Hur included in his report—recordings of Biden conversing with his ghostwriter. Suddenly, the administration is participating in the “Well, what do you know?” debate. This is what we’ve discovered over here.
“After informing a judge the previous month that special counsel Robert Hur’s office did not have transcripts of the audio, federal officials said in a court filing on Monday that they located transcripts from a portion of the audio recordings of Biden’s conversations with ghostwriter Mark Zwonitzer,” James Lynch of National Review writes.
Attorney Cameron Silverberg for the DOJ stated, “In the last few days…the Department uncovered six electronic files, totaling 117 pages, that looked to be verbatim transcripts of a tiny portion of the Biden-Zwonitzer audio recordings generated for the SCO by a court-reporting firm.”
How practical.
Last month, Silverberg asserted, “We don’t have some transcript that’s been generated by the special counsel that we can confirm to its truth.” Additionally, the DOJ attempted to argue that transcription of the seventy-hour talks between Biden and Zwonitzer would be too time-consuming.
Additionally, according to the National Review, Hur was under pressure from the government to temper his assessments of Biden’s mental decline.
“We don’t think the way the report handles President Biden’s recall is appropriate or accurate. The report describes a frequent occurrence among witnesses—a lack of recollection of years-old events—in extremely biased language, according to Richard Sauber, the president’s special counsel, and Bob Bauer, Biden’s personal attorney. “We ask that you go back over and edit your summaries of President Biden’s memories to make sure that they are presented in a way that is appropriate for your level of experience and authority,” Sauber and Bauer said.
There was sarcasm in the air this week over the DOJ’s announcement that they had miraculously located the Biden-Zwonitzer recordings, akin to a child discovering unfinished school projects that resulted in a failing grade.
When Richard Nixon temporarily stepped away from politics in 1962, he famously warned reporters, “You won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore.” It’s different with Biden. He is no longer a contender in the 2024 race, so the Democrats will take advantage of every opportunity to discredit him.
They have nothing more to conceal or protect. We should anticipate the sudden appearance of additional incriminating material against Biden.
