Democrats have been melting down for a while now. I think they are just realizing how little their ideas work—and are liked by Americans. The triggering started weeks ago when Elon Musk bought Twitter.
The innovator promised to make the failing social network a free speech platform. Democrats are still trying to oppose him. The government might even try to stop his final purchase. And the left will have even more incentive to shut Musk down, after his latest comment.
Incoming Twitter owner Elon Musk said Tuesday he would reverse the social media platform’s ban on former President Donald Trump.
The decision to ban Trump, said Musk, a billionaire entrepreneur, was “morally wrong and flat-out stupid.”
He made the comment at the Financial Times Future of the Car conference – after he and Twitter reached a deal about two weeks ago for him to buy the platform for roughly $44 billion. [Source: Just the News]
At least the incoming Twitter owner has enough integrity to admit the truth. Musk slammed the former controllers of Twitter for banning Trump, saying it was “morally wrong and flat-out stupid.”
Ironically, the leftists who run Twitter have no clue what morality is. Their overriding goal is to push their radical politics. So, the notion that there is a right or wrong, that conflicts with their agenda, is nonsense to them.
But even if that wasn’t enough to censor a President of the United States, Musk has another reason. Trump was one of the biggest users on the platform. His tweets were headline news. It brought millions of users to the service, who would have rather not joined.
I’d like to see the numbers after Twitter banned Trump. They must have been terrible. And I can only imagine that the site’s profitability has not recovered since then. The only thing that seemed to spark a renewed interest in the platform has been Musk.
But will Trump come back to Twitter? We can’t say for sure. Trump has launched his own social media platform and has just started using it. But can his reach and influence on TRUTH match what he had on Twitter?
Especially as we get closer to 2024?
Trump is a man who is quick to change his mind if he gets results. If TRUTH doesn’t thrive as a platform, he will just as easily shut it down and go back to Twitter.
Not that leftists will be happy. But they should be getting used to disappointment.
