Elon Musk and Vice President JD Vance are right. It’s time to get serious about violent crime in America. For too long, the radical Left has tried to make excuses for criminals. They tell us crime is “systemic,” like it’s just part of the air we breathe. They blame the system instead of the people who actually commit the crimes. But the truth is simple: a small number of criminals are causing most of the violence, and we need to lock them up.
Vice President JD Vance hit the nail on the head when he said, “The gross majority of violent crime is committed by a very small group of people and we should be throwing them in prison.” That’s exactly the kind of common sense leadership we need. Criminals should face real consequences. If someone robs, assaults, or murders innocent people, they don’t deserve another shot at walking free. They deserve a prison cell.
Elon Musk, one of the smartest and most successful people in the world, agrees. He said people who feel more sympathy for murderers than for their victims are “disgusting.” And he’s right. What kind of society feels sorry for the criminal and forgets the victim? That’s what the radical Left promotes. They care more about the people committing crimes than the families torn apart by them.
Musk went even further. He said that if someone gets convicted a second time for a violent crime, they should go to prison for life. That’s not being harsh—that’s being smart. If someone commits two violent crimes, they’ve shown they are a danger to society. Why would we ever let them walk free again?
This is not about being mean or cruel. It’s about protecting the American people. Law-abiding citizens have a right to live in peace. They have a right to walk down the street without being attacked. They have a right to raise their kids in neighborhoods that are safe. That’s not too much to ask. But thanks to soft-on-crime policies pushed by far-left politicians, far too many Americans live in fear.
Rep. Beth Van Duyne from Texas also spoke up. She called out the so-called “crime and homeless industrial complexes” that Democrats have built. These are groups, often nonprofits, that claim to help solve crime and homelessness. But in reality, many of them just waste taxpayer money. They don’t fix the problem—they get rich off the problem. They are filled with left-wing activists who push pro-criminal policies while our cities fall apart.
Let’s be honest. The Left doesn’t want to fix crime. They want to manage it. They want to keep the money flowing to their pet nonprofits and activist groups. Meanwhile, they let repeat criminals out of jail early. They reduce penalties for serious crimes. They create sanctuary cities that protect illegal aliens, even when they’ve committed violent acts. It’s madness.
But the tide is turning. With leaders like President Trump, Vice President Vance, and strong voices like Elon Musk, more Americans are waking up. We are tired of being told that criminals deserve our sympathy. We are tired of feeling unsafe in our own communities. And we are tired of Democrats using our tax dollars to fund broken systems that do nothing but make things worse.
It’s time to put the safety of the American people first. That means locking up violent criminals and keeping them off our streets. It means standing up to the radical Left and their failed ideas. And it means putting law and order back at the center of American life.
The Constitution promises Americans the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. But we can’t enjoy those rights if we’re living in fear. It’s time to restore justice and protect our people. Enough is enough.
