A recent study by McLaughlin & Associates found that a large number of people think that President Biden helped bring charges against former President Trump.
Within five months, a total of four indictments against Trump were handed down by New York and Georgian local authorities, as well as Special Counsel Jack Smith. Trump says that the charges are trying to mess with the election.
In the study, people were asked, “How much do you think President Biden had to do with the charges against former President Trump?”
Sixty percent stated Biden had something to do with the charges, while only 29 percent claimed he had nothing to do with them. Eleven percent were unsure.
39% of respondents who felt Biden played a part said it was a “major” part. Twenty-one percent of those asked said it was a small part.
55 percent of independents also said that Biden played a role in putting his political rival in jail. 31% of independents said that he played a big part. Twenty-four percent of those asked said it was a small part.
From August 15 to 23, 1,000 general election voters were chosen for the poll. The range of error is not known.
Legal experts and media experts say that putting a past president on trial could put the country on a dangerous slope toward becoming a banana republic.
Trump says that the charges are election meddling by Biden, who will be the former president’s biggest political opponent in the 2024 race.
“What they are doing is interfering with the election. They want to change the outcome of an election. Our country has never seen anything like it before. This is how they campaign,” Trump stated following his arrest in Georgia this past week.
“This is just one example, but you have three more,” he told her. “It’s meddling in the election.”
Polls done by CIVIQ show that less than a quarter of Americans think the country is headed in the right direction. Only 17% of independents think Biden is taking America in the right way. Almost 75% of people think it’s going in the wrong direction.
