House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) made a controversial comment regarding illegal immigrants on Friday, saying Florida farmers are needing them to pick crops.
According to the New York Post, she did mention during a news conference that the US needs to safeguard the border.
“Comprehensive immigration reform is currently the most effective thing that we can do for our economy,” according to Pelosi.
“Because of the lack of labor in our nation, several farmers and producers in Florida are asking, Why are these immigrants getting sent up north? They must pluck the crops for us down here. But that doesn’t mean we don’t also acknowledge our moral obligation,” she said.
People on social media reacted quickly to her remarks, with one tweeting, “Elitist progressive and pious beliefs.”
Another person remarked, “Apparently, there are no crops to gather on Martha’s Vineyard,” while another responded, “When she used the word moral,’ I expected her to instantly combust.”
50 migrants arrived in Martha’s Vineyard last month. As Breitbart News noted on September 16: “However, the amount was only a drop in the sea compared to the nation’s border communities suffering a major wave of border crossings.”

A tiny 0.001% of the nearly five million undocumented people and illegal immigrants who have entered the country through the southern border since Pres. Joe Biden (D) took office in Jan. 2021 were represented by the group of 50.
As for the upcoming midterm elections, another user predicted that “Legal Hispanics will respond resoundingly in Nov and send Nancy and a slew of other radical dems home.”
