A Texas mother is leading the charge against explicit, indecent books in public school libraries—and liberals are panicking.
Bonnie Wallace, a member of the Llano County Library Advisory Board and a fierce advocate for protecting children, has uncovered dozens of “bad books” in Texas high school libraries—many containing pornographic content, suicide themes, and even links to online sex shops.
“Why Is This in a School Library?”
Wallace began investigating after discovering the obscene book “Gender Queer” in her local high school library.
“Someone showed me a picture from a book called ‘Gender Queer’… and it was in our library,” Wallace told The Daily Signal.
This book, along with others she found, contains graphic depictions of sex, QR codes linking to Planned Parenthood, online sex shops, and even a site called “F*ing Trans Women.”**
At school board meetings, Wallace reads these books aloud—only to be told she’s using “vulgar, profane, and indecent” language.
Her response?
“You are exactly right. I agree with you. It’s profanity, it’s profane, it’s indecent, it’s obscene. Why is it in a book in your high school or your junior high?”
Books Too Vulgar For Prisons
Wallace is now pushing a bill to prohibit public school libraries from carrying books that are banned in Texas prisons.
“The Texas Department of Criminal Justice prohibits Texas prisoners from accessing 10,800 books because they contain illegal sexual content,” Wallace explained. “Yet I have books in high schools and junior highs that contain all of these things. It’s shocking.”
Gov. Greg Abbott agrees, posting in June:
“If a book cannot be read out loud at a school board meeting in Texas, then there is no reason for Texas children in school to be able to read it.”

Liberal Schools Are Stalling
Even when these books are exposed, schools drag their feet to remove them.
- In February 2024, a Texas high school principal admitted it would take “roughly 30 days” to review each book Wallace cited.
- Meanwhile, these books remain available for kids to check out.
Wallace’s advice to parents?
“Be involved. People have no idea what’s in the libraries these days.”
This isn’t just a Texas issue—it’s happening across America.
The left’s war on innocence is real—but thanks to warriors like Bonnie Wallace, parents are fighting back.
