Russia’s Hypersonic Strike: A Global Wake-Up Call

Russia’s Hypersonic Strike: A Global Wake-Up Call

The war in Eastern Europe is heating up again, and the world should be paying attention. On Friday, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, firing hundreds of deadly drones and hypersonic missiles. Ukraine fired back, hitting Russian targets with its own long-range missiles. This is not just a faraway conflict—it’s a clear warning of what happens when dangerous powers are not held in check.

Russia struck hard, using over 430 drones and 18 missiles in one night. These weren’t just any missiles. Russia used Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles—some of the fastest and most dangerous weapons in the world. One hit the city of Sumy, and others struck Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa. These attacks weren’t aimed at military bases. They were aimed at apartment buildings, energy plants, and even foreign embassies. A pregnant woman, children, and innocent civilians were among the victims. Four people died, and many more were hurt.

Let’s be clear: this was not a military operation. This was terrorism. Russia is deliberately going after civilian areas to spread fear and break Ukraine’s spirit. That’s not war—it’s evil.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said his country answered back. Ukraine used its new “Long Neptune” missiles to strike deep into Russia. These missiles can fly over 600 miles to hit enemy targets, and according to Zelensky, they were used with great success. One of Ukraine’s targets was an oil facility near the Black Sea. After the strike, a major Russian oil company, Transneft, had to stop pumping oil. That’s a blow to Russia’s economy and its war machine.

Zelensky is asking the world for help. He says Ukraine needs more air defense systems and interceptor missiles to protect its people. He’s right to ask—but here’s the truth: Ukraine should not be fighting this war alone. And the United States should not be wasting time, money, or military power helping weak European governments who refuse to defend themselves.

For years, under the failed Biden administration, the U.S. sent billions of dollars to Ukraine with little accountability. Meanwhile, our own borders were wide open, our economy was shrinking, and our cities were falling apart. That was a disgrace. But now, with President Trump back in office, America is putting itself first again. And that’s how it should be.

We must stand strong against tyrants like Vladimir Putin, but we must do it smartly. That means making sure Europe takes the lead in defending its own backyard. It means using economic pressure, not endless foreign aid, to stop Russia’s aggression. And it means rebuilding our own military power so enemies think twice before threatening us or our allies.

Russia’s use of hypersonic missiles should be a wake-up call. These weapons are fast, deadly, and hard to stop. If we don’t invest in our own missile defense systems right now, we are leaving ourselves wide open. America must lead the world in military strength, or we will fall behind. That’s why President Trump is rebuilding our defenses and putting American security first.

This war is a reminder that peace comes through strength. Weakness invites attack. We saw that under Biden, and we’re seeing it in Ukraine. Let’s not make the same mistakes at home. We must protect our borders, strengthen our military, and stop sending blank checks overseas.

The world is a dangerous place. But with strong leadership, a strong military, and a strong America, we can keep freedom alive. Let’s stay focused, stay smart, and never forget that our first duty is to defend the United States of America.
