Supreme Court Case to Decide America’s Future Freedoms

The Supreme Court is set to hear a case next week that could have huge consequences for freedom of speech, religious liberty, and parental rights in America. At the heart of this case is a Colorado counselor, Kaley Chiles, who is standing up against the radical left’s attempts to silence people of faith and strip away the rights of families to seek the counseling that matches their values.

Here’s the truth: Colorado’s law banning so-called “conversion therapy” for minors isn’t about protecting children—it’s about controlling thought and speech. The state is trying to force a one-size-fits-all moral view on every counselor, every parent, and every child. If the state gets its way, it will become illegal for a licensed therapist to even talk with a young person about aligning their feelings with their biological sex—even if that’s what the child wants.

Kaley Chiles isn’t pushing an agenda. She’s doing what good counselors have always done: listening to her clients and helping them reach their own goals. If a young person is struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion and wants to talk about it, Chiles should be free to help. But Colorado says no. They’ve banned any conversation that doesn’t affirm the left’s radical view of sexuality and gender. That’s not science—it’s ideology, plain and simple.

Let’s be clear—this is a First Amendment fight. Free speech includes the right to have private conversations with your therapist about deeply personal matters. It includes the right of professionals to offer advice based on their beliefs and their understanding of what is best for their clients. The government has no business policing those conversations. What Colorado is doing is censorship—pure and simple.

And it gets worse. This law isn’t just an attack on speech. It’s an attack on religious liberty. Many people of faith believe that biblical teaching on sexuality and gender is true and good. They believe that God created us male and female, and that our bodies matter. For them, helping someone live in line with that truth is an act of compassion. But under Colorado’s law, offering that kind of help is illegal. The state is telling Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others that their beliefs are dangerous and must be silenced.

This is a dangerous road. Once the government can ban a conversation between a counselor and a client, what’s next? Will pastors be banned from preaching biblical truth? Will parents lose custody if they don’t affirm their child’s new gender identity? We’ve already seen cases like that around the world. Don’t think it can’t happen here. The left is just getting started.

The state claims it wants to protect kids. But what about the kids who *want* to live in line with their faith? What about the kids who feel trapped in confusion and are seeking help to understand themselves? Don’t they deserve the freedom to talk with someone who shares their values? Denying them that right is not compassion—it’s cruelty.

This case matters for every American who believes in freedom. It’s about whether the government can dictate what you can and cannot say behind closed doors. It’s about whether parents have the right to guide their children’s upbringing. And it’s about whether people of faith will have to choose between their career and their convictions.

We’re thankful the Supreme Court is taking this case. We pray they will uphold the Constitution and protect the First Amendment rights of counselors like Kaley Chiles. America was built on the belief that government has no place in the conscience of its citizens. It’s time to return to those principles and stand firm for freedom.

This is not just about Colorado. This is about the future of our nation. If we lose the right to speak freely and live according to our faith, we lose the very core of what makes America free. Let’s stand strong, speak boldly, and never back down in the face of tyranny.
