Texas Answers Gun Control Requests With This Solution To School Shootings
After the terrible shooting at a school in Uvalde, Texas, people wanted to know what happened. In 2022, 19 kids and two teachers were killed at Robb Elementary School. The event shocked the whole country, especially because the police didn’t do much to stop it and didn’t try to stop the killer.

In addition to being angry at the police officers, people on the left used the shooting incident to advocate for more gun limits for legal gun owners. Robert Francis O’Rourke, a citizen of Ireland who claims to be Hispanic, and other Democratic lawmakers used the shooting to help their failed campaigns for governor.

Still, the state government didn’t rely on gun rules that didn’t work. Instead, it passed a law that will make schools harder to attack by putting armed guards and other security measures in place.

“Texas lawmakers discreetly passed a wide-ranging law about school safety. It says that every school must have an armed security officer along with the requirement that some district employees must get training in the area of mental health.”

“Texas House Bill 3, which Republican Governor Greg Abbott signed into law on June 14th, became operative on September 1st. It was prompted by the terrible Uvalde school massacre that claimed the lives of 19 students and two instructors at Robb Elementary School in May 2022.”

“According to the bill, armed security guards must be present on all school district campuses. These guards may be school resource officers, commissioned peace officers, school marshals, or district employees who have undergone school safety training and are authorized to carry handguns on school property.”

The law is the same as those in other states, such as Alabama, which just put school security officers in all of its schools.

Some Texas schools have had trouble getting ready to follow the law, which started this week. One of the biggest problems is that there isn’t enough money for hiring and instructing armed guards.

Due to limited funds, some areas have had trouble finding and hiring suitable people. The problem is made worse by the high cost of training, background checks, as well as additional costs. Location makes it hard for rural places to find people to work there.

Other areas that are experiencing trouble finding candidates are going a different way. The job is being filled by school guards or resource police. The idea is that these people will be an obvious security presence on campus to stop a school shooter or someone else who wants to hurt children.

As far as the money problem goes, it looks like help may be on the way. The speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Dade Phelan, said that Governor Greg Abbott will hold a special session within the next month to talk about giving more money to school districts that are trying to make their campuses safer.

Despite its difficulties, the new legislation is likely to safeguard students more than the worthless gun control proposals put up by the left after tragedies like the one in Uvalde. By increasing the risk involved in carrying out a shooting, potential attackers are more likely to be stopped before they can cause the greatest amount of damage or to be discouraged from beginning an assault.
