Harrison Floyd, the head of Black Voices for Trump, is the only one out of the 19 co-defendants in the case of former President Trump who has been refused bail in Fulton County, in the state of Georgia, and is presently being detained in the infamous county jail.
According to the indictment filed by DA Fani Willis, Floyd tried to get an election worker to talk about suspected vote manipulation, which is against the law. During that talk, there was a police officer there.
Floyd was found to be one of two black suspects in the same case. He defended himself in court for his initial appearance because he couldn’t afford a lawyer.
Even though the charges against him are not violent, Judge Emily Richardson said he was a flight risk since he is also being charged in Maryland with assaulting an FBI agent who arrived at his home in order to serve him with a summons to appear to give testimony at the grand jury in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s federal investigation.
Black Voices for Trump was started in 2019 to help Trump get re-elected and to emphasize the record-low black jobless rate, the development of opportunity zones, and many other good things that have happened for black Americans during his time in office.
Throughout the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020, workers from Black Voices for Trump helped clean up towns like Kenosha, Wisconsin, that had been damaged. Joe Biden, who was a candidate at the time, didn’t say anything about the riots for several days.
Floyd, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, will now be kept in custody until his court date at the Fulton County facility, which the left-leaning website Slate.com criticized for being a facility where “nobody” should be kept due to its subpar circumstances, where individuals die in “squalor.”
Slate said that white suspects are not frequently detained there because of racism and since they have a greater probability of being able to pay for private lawyers. So far, Black Lives Matter hasn’t said anything about Floyd’s arrest.
