Four former military leaders who served with Tim Walz, the Dem candidate for vice president, slammed the Minnesota governor for lying about his time in the military.
Paul Herr, Tom Behrends, Tom Schilling, and Rodney Tow—all former National Guardsmen—talked about Walz on “The Megyn Kelly Show” this week. They called him a “hateful lie,” a “deserter,” and a “coward.”
“He should go to GTMO.”
People have accused Walz of false bravery because he said he “carried” guns “in war” when he had never been sent to a battle zone. People have also called him a former “command sergeant major,” even though he never retired at that rank.
People who support Kamala Harris have said that the claims against Walz are false.
Adams Smith, D-Wash., supported Walz last week on Kelly’s show and called the claims “absolute lies.”
Smith said, “He didn’t leave the National Guard because he did not want to serve. That claim is, without a doubt, a lie.”
Also, he said, “If you are a warrior and you say in public that Tim Walz quit because he did not want to go to Iraq, then you can’t possibly know that to be true.”
Smith’s claims were disputed by the four soldiers on Kelly’s show, who said that Walz would have likely known about mission plans months before the news was made public to the whole unit because he was in charge.
Herr told Kelly, “He lies all the time. He always tells lies. He tells lies about things that don’t make sense.”
“It’s just one lie after another and more and more of them,” he said.
In the later part of the talk, Herr said, “He is the exact result of why people steal valor. People make valiant choices, then come back and others try to steal that. They want a share of the benefits and sacrifices we made as troops.”
