According to reports, former President Trump’s attorneys were advised this week to anticipate an additional indictment, which would result in three total since the Republican front-runner launched his candidacy.
In a meeting with prosecutors in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office, Trump’s lawyers Todd Blanche along with John Lauro were reportedly informed that they should “anticipate an indictment” as part of the continuing January 6 probe.
Trump first acknowledged last week that he was the subject of a January 6 investigation.
Trump claimed on July 18 that “Deranged Jack Smith, the crazy prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, delivered a letter, claiming that I’m the TARGET of the January 6 Grand Jury inquiry, and he gave me just four days to appear before the Grand Jury, which virtually always indicates an Arrest as well as an Indictment,”
“Since the day I descended the escalator in Trump Tower, the battle has been unending,” said Trump.

If the indictment goes through, it will be the third indictment against the former president in recent months. He was indicted earlier this year by a Manhattan grand jury and the Soros-affiliated DA Alvin Bragg. The indictment included 34 charges of manipulating financial documents pertaining to alleged “hush money” payments to porn star Stormy Daniels. Trump entered a not-guilty plea.
Shortly later, as a result of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s probe into his management of White House papers, Trump was indicted; nonetheless, he has continued to assert his innocence.
The revelation is in line with a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted this week, which revealed that the majority of probable voters do not believe that political indictments would harm Trump’s chances of winning the presidency in 2024.
Following the announcement that he was the subject of the January 6 investigation, Trump’s standing in Morning Consult’s weekly tracking survey increased by four points.
