The First Circuit Court of Appeals has just handed President Trump and the American people a huge victory. In a 3-0 ruling, judges appointed by Joe Biden threw out an Obama judge’s order that tried to keep taxpayer money flowing to Planned Parenthood. That means the Trump administration can now move forward with cutting Planned Parenthood off from Medicaid funding — and not a moment too soon.
For years, Planned Parenthood has been raking in over $670 million a year from the government. That’s your money and mine, going to an organization that ends over a million unborn lives every year. Let that sink in. We’re talking about a group that was founded by Margaret Sanger, a woman who believed in eugenics and wanted to control which “types” of people could have children. That’s the ugly truth behind this so-called “healthcare provider.”
President Trump made a promise back in 2016 that he would defund Planned Parenthood. Now, thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act he signed on Independence Day, that promise is becoming reality. The bill includes a clear provision: no more Medicaid dollars for Planned Parenthood starting in fiscal year 2026. The abortion industry panicked, and Planned Parenthood rushed to court to stop it. And of course, a liberal judge — Indira Talwani, appointed by Obama — tried to block the president’s plan.
Judge Talwani claimed that cutting off funding would hurt women, lead to more unplanned pregnancies, and deny treatment for diseases. But let’s be honest — that’s just fear-mongering. There are thousands of real health clinics across this country that provide care without pushing abortion. In fact, there are 15 alternatives for every one Planned Parenthood clinic. Women have options. What they don’t need is a politically motivated abortion giant pretending to be their only choice.
And now, even Biden’s own judges have admitted the Trump administration has every right to move forward. The First Circuit ruled that the government met the legal standard to lift the Obama judge’s injunction. In plain terms, that means Planned Parenthood is not entitled to your tax dollars while the case moves forward.
Of course, Planned Parenthood and their allies are outraged. They’re crying that this is a “direct assault” on patients. Alexis McGill Johnson, the head of Planned Parenthood, went on a rant about how this ruling somehow takes away people’s ability to “control their lives, bodies, and futures.” What nonsense. No one is stopping anyone from making choices. What’s changing is that taxpayers are no longer being forced to foot the bill for those choices.
And let’s not forget what Planned Parenthood really is: a billion-dollar political machine that bankrolls Democrat campaigns and pushes radical policies. They don’t just want to be in the business of abortion — they want to force you to pay for it, whether you like it or not. That ends now.
Groups like Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America are celebrating this win, and rightly so. As they said, we should never be forced to fund a “brutal industry” that harms women, ends innocent lives, and plays politics with our money. The Trump administration is taking a strong stand for life, for liberty, and for the rule of law.
This ruling is a reminder of what happens when we put America First and stand up for our values. The left may scream and shout, but the Constitution is still on our side. President Trump is keeping his promises, and the courts — even ones filled with Biden appointees — are starting to fall in line.
The days of Planned Parenthood living off the taxpayer are numbered. And that’s something every freedom-loving American should celebrate.
