The Biden years gave us open borders, chaos, and crime. But now, under President Trump’s leadership and with strong support from Texas officials, law and order is being restored. Just look at what ICE and local law enforcement did in Houston. In a 10-day operation, they arrested over 1,500 illegal aliens—many of them violent criminals who should have never been in this country in the first place. This is what real border enforcement looks like. This is what it means to put America First.

From October 22 to October 31, ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations team launched a major sweep across southeast Texas. This wasn’t just about catching people who crossed the border illegally. This was about protecting American families from dangerous criminals—gang members, sexual predators, murderers, and repeat offenders who had already been deported but came back anyway. These are not people looking for a better life. These are predators looking for their next victim.

ICE Field Office Director Bret Bradford said it best—these arrests “prevented countless Houstonians from having to suffer from the nightmares and PTSD that come with being a victim of violent crime.” That’s what this is really about: keeping Americans safe from foreign criminals who have no respect for our laws or our people.

Just look at some of the monsters they caught.

Selvin Joel Lara Diaz, a 35-year-old member of the Mexican mafia, raped and impregnated his own underage sister. He had already been deported but came back to hide out in Houston. Thanks to ICE, he’s no longer walking free.

Then there’s Marlon Odir Gomez Hernandez, a suspected MS-13 gang member from El Salvador. He tried to escape through the ceiling of a laundromat when ICE closed in. That’s how dangerous these people are. They know they don’t belong here, and they’ll do anything to avoid justice.

Or take Rony Andy Martinez Lopez from Honduras. He was previously convicted of committing lewd acts with a minor and cruelty toward a child. Again—already convicted. Already shown he’s a danger. Yet somehow, he was still in this country.

These are just a few of the 1,505 illegal aliens arrested in this one operation. Among them were 17 confirmed gang members, 13 sexual predators, and 40 aggravated felons. Over 250 had already been deported before. That means they broke our laws more than once. They crossed our border, committed violent crimes, got kicked out, and then came back to do it again.

This is not just a border issue. This is a national security issue. This is about whether we’re going to defend our communities or leave them vulnerable to foreign criminals. President Trump and his administration are making the right call. They’re backing the brave men and women of ICE, who risk their safety every day to protect the rest of us.

Let’s not forget either—ICE is doing this work under tough conditions. Director Bradford pointed out that political hate and dishonest media lies are making it more dangerous for officers on the ground. Left-wing activists and open-border politicians want to paint ICE as villains. But they’re the ones standing between us and a full-blown crime wave.

This is what happens when you take law enforcement seriously. This is what happens when you put Americans first. The people of Houston—and the rest of the nation—owe thanks to the officers who carried out this mission.

It’s time to close the border, finish the wall, and give ICE the full support they deserve. No more sanctuary cities. No more catch-and-release. No more letting criminals come back after we deport them. Enough is enough.

America is not a dumping ground for the world’s worst criminals. We are a sovereign nation, built on the rule of law. And thanks to leaders who are finally standing up for the Constitution and for the American people, we’re taking our country back—one arrest at a time.
