Watch: White House Reporter Shellshocked By This Simple Question

During a recent heated talk between Peter Doocy of Fox News and White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, Doocy exposed the Biden administration’s bad reaction to Hurricane Helene.

Doocy’s questions about the administration’s goals made Jean-Pierre very angry, since the administration had just sent $157 million to Lebanon and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) seems to have run out of money unless Congress approves more.

“The emergency situation for the people of Lebanon is getting worse.” Kamala Harris said in a post on X on Saturday night.

“I am worried about the safety and well-being of American civilians suffering in Lebanon, and I will continue to work to help meet the needs of all citizens there. In order to do that, the US will send an extra $157 million to Lebanon to help with things like food, housing, water, safety, and sanitation for people who have been forced to leave their homes because of the recent war. With this extra help, the United States has given over $385 million to Lebanon in aid over the last year.”

When Doocy asked about this funding, Jean-Pierre looked confused and ended the meeting quickly.

“What does the fact that he gave money for people in Lebanon right now without Congress say about his morals?” Doocy asked. “There are people in North Carolina who need help right now.”

It was clear what the point was: how could the government find money for help to other countries while ignoring important needs at home? Instead of giving a straight answer, Jean-Pierre, who looked silly in a Zoot suit, said that Doocy was spreading dangerous “misinformation.” This is something the White House often does when they want to avoid answering the question.

“Everything you say in your question is false, sir!” Jean Pierre said. “It’s false information!”

He asked, “Which part? Is there money right now to pay for it?”

Jean-Pierre claimed that there was money for disaster aid, saying that the government had given “more than $200 million” to hurricane victims. But Doocy kept going and brought up a bigger problem: there’s going to be a shortage. Congress hasn’t set aside enough money to deal with disasters like Hurricane Milton in the future. Jean-Pierre reluctantly agreed that more money was needed, but she said that the wait was due to Congress.

As the back and forth went on, Jean-Pierre still didn’t have a good answer, so she suddenly stopped the briefing, as she always does.
