At the start of the COVID panic, millions of Americans were on edge. States were shutting down their economies. Children were forced out of school. And graduating college students had little to look forward to. The federal government scrambled to alleviate some of the massive damage it had done to our society. Doing a poor job of it.
The Feds gave out trillions of dollars, billions of which were stolen by scammers. They also froze student loan payments, since college graduates would not be able to find a job for at least six months. But plenty has changed and there is every reason to believe Americans should go back to work. Yet Biden continues to dole out disastrous socialist bailouts, damaging the economy.
Now, he is once again bowing to the radical left and freezing student loan payments again. Even though, he claims the economy is “strong.”
President Biden on Wednesday extended the pandemic moratorium on federal student loan payments and interest accrual through August, ending just three months before the midterm elections…
Biden said on Wednesday that “the economy was barely growing” when he first continued the pause in January 2021, and that now “America is stronger than we were a year ago.” [Source: The Hill]
Yep, the economy is “stronger” than it was a year ago. Except for inflation, skyrocketing gas prices, possible food shortages, a broken supply chain, a worker shortage, and an open border bleeding us dry. Nobody is fooled that the economy is stronger than at any other time. Even Biden doesn’t believe it, because he’s extending his freeze on student loan payments.
If there was one thing to keep around, its payments for student loans. That amounts to billions of tax dollars, handed out to people who spent them on college degrees. If they want to make use of those degrees, they better start working. We’re no longer at a place where companies are hunkering down for the worst. Companies need workers. And if these graduates don’t want immigrants on H-1B visas taking those jobs, they better get a move on.
There’s no better incentive for working than paying back a loan.
Let’s be real, folks. These kids went to college on your dime. You worked hard, paid your taxes, and the government gave that money to a student. The least they can do is get a job and start paying it back.
When the country is facing crippling inflation and other mounting economic problems, you don’t give out freebies like payment freezes. You buckle down and pay back what you owe.
But we know why Biden did this. He thinks that if he extends this freeze, it will help Democrats in the midterms. He’s assuming voters will be so thankful, that they’ll have no choice but to vote for this toxic group of criminals.
Problem is, college students don’t vote.
