Democrats have been freaking out ever since someone leaked a Supreme Court draft opinion last week. The document suggests the court is days away from overturning Roe v. Wade, ending federal approval of abortion. If the court does make this ruling, it will give states the power to pass their own pro-life (or pro-choice) laws.
Naturally, Democrats hate this. They will not rest until every state is forced to allow women to kill the unborn children in their wounds. Democrats have been profiting off this form of murder for decades—as they funnel tax dollars through organizations like Planned Parenthood. This ruling would amount to millions taken from the Democratic Party’s coffers.
Democrats have mounted harassment campaigns against the court. They are trying to force the justices to vote the way they want.
But Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas revealed, they will not be bullied.
Referencing the leak — which immediately sparked outrage from Democratic elected officials and multiple protests from pro-abortion groups — Thomas noted, “We are becoming addicted to wanting particular outcomes, not living with the outcomes we don’t like.”
“We can’t be an institution that can be bullied into giving you just the outcomes you want. The events from earlier this week are a symptom of that,” Thomas continued. [Source: Daily Wire]
Thomas was blasting the apparent underlying thought that is driving these protests. It seems Democrats think they can demand the court to rule any way they like, regardless of what the law says. The Supreme Court, in addition to every other court in the land, does not exist to do what you want.
They are not run by elected officials, for this very reason. Sure, we can vote for people who have convinced us they’ll do whatever we ask. But the courts don’t function that way. They are tasked with upholding the law as written.
There is to be no special treatment, no bending of the laws to make people happy.
The idea that Democrats think they can manipulate the highest court in the land because they want to keep killing babies is horrific. The court is supposed to rule based on what the law says. Its very existence is to check the other branches of government that are all too easily manipulated by the public.
Should the courts be influenced by protesters, rioters, and activists, they’ll cease to be useful. If a judge makes a decision because of what some outside force dictates, then the court has no purpose. Whoever is loudest or most intimidating will be able to set the rules. Law and order won’t matter. We will be a nation of mob rule.
That, of course, is what Democrats want—because they run the mobs. But God help us if they get their way.
