Adam Schiff Gets The Ultimate Humiliation

On a party-line vote, the House censured Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) this week in retaliation for Schiff’s vocal support of claims that the 2016 presidential campaign of former President Trump had cooperated with Russia.

It was approved 213 to 209. Five Republicans that are on the House Ethics Committee, are now compelled under the resolution to look into Schiff, as well as Representative Ken Buck (R-CO), was among the six members who cast votes in favor of the resolution.

Democrats, who were in total opposition to the resolution, gathered around Schiff after it passed, yelling “Shame! Shame!” and “Disgrace!” towards House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who was standing up to read it.

In reaction to all the disruptions, McCarthy quipped, “I’ve got all night.”

The most severe punishment in Congress short of expulsion is the censure, which is uncommon. In the last almost four decades, just two other members have received censure, including the most recent Representative Paul Gosar (R-AZ) for posting a cartoon showing himself murdering Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

During his time as the senior Democrat on the House’s Permanent Special Committee on Intel, Schiff, according to the vote against him, “spread bogus allegations that the campaign of Donald Trump collaborated with Russia.”

Furthermore, Schiff “perpetuated bogus claims that derived from the Steele Dossier charging many Trump associates with conspiring with Russia to influence the Congressional Records.”

The resolution demanded that Schiff appear in the House floor well as McCarthy read the resolution and that the Ethics Committee look into any “falsehoods, deception, and abuses involving sensitive information” that Schiff had made.

Even though several government investigations finally came to the conclusion that there was insufficient proof of the alleged connection, Schiff is infamous for asserting, while in his place of authority on Intel, that “unmistakable proof” that Trump collaborated with the Russians was in “plain sight.”

This year, McCarthy fired Schiff from Intel for the identical grounds outlined in the censure resolution.

Prior to the vote, Schiff declared on the House floor that he was going to wear the censure as what he called a “badge of honor.” He has not yet withdrawn his allegations.
