Trump Punishes A Former Ally For His Betrayal
In a new lawsuit that seeks $500 million for several wrongs, Former President Trump filed suit against his former attorney, Michael Cohen.

The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida received a lawsuit from Trump’s legal team on Wednesday that reportedly has over 30 pages, according to Fox News.

The complaint claims that Cohen broke the terms of his attorney-client relationship and did things that were bad for Trump. Spreading lies “with malicious intentions and purely self-serving ends” is included in this.

This appears to be a response to Cohen ramping up his criticism of Trump, which left his legal team with no other option except to file a lawsuit.

“It asserts that over the last several months, Cohen ‘has escalated the frequency as well as the hostility of the illicit actions’ and ‘appears to have grown more daring and repeatedly continues making wrongful and untrue statements’ against Trump on numerous platforms.”

The complaint claims that “Cohen’s constant and escalating improper conduct has reached a proverbial crescendo and that Trump has suffered vast reputational harm as a direct result of Cohen’s breaches leaving him with no choice but to pursue legal remedy through this action.”

Cohen’s admissions about his wrongdoings toward Trump in his book “Disloyal” are also brought up in the lawsuit.

According to the complaint, Cohen “by his own admission” states in one of his books, “Disloyal,” that he “‘lied’ about the money he was promised in repayment for a cost he incurred on Trump’s behalf, instead ‘loading up’ and ‘sneakily boosting his bonus’ in order to ‘counter-punch’ Trump.”

“Cohen left his position as the Trump Organization’s lawyer in January 2017, the month of Trump’s inauguration, but he kept on representing him individually until June 2018.”

According to the lawsuit, “the timing of the release of Disloyal, just before the Nov. 3 2020 Presidential Election, suggests that the Defendant planned to improperly disclose Plaintiff’s confidences at the time it would be most profitable to do so — and while Disloyal would definitely have the greatest detrimental reputable effect.”
