Donald Trump, the former president, is endorsing the “God Bless the USA Bible.”
In addition to scripture, the King James Version bible, which costs $59.99 plus shipping on godblesstheusabible.com, includes handwritten chorus lyrics to Lee Greenwood’s well-known patriotic anthem “God Bless The USA,” as well as passages from the American Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The website states that it has a paid license from CIC Ventures LLC to use Donald J. Trump’s name, likeness, and picture. However, the conditions of the license may lead to its withdrawal or termination.
Trump endorsed the product in a video.
In the video, Trump declared, “I am happy to be teaming with my very close friend Lee Greenwood… in connection with promoting the God Bless the USA Bible. I am glad to recommend and urge you to get this Bible. America has to start praying again.”
“I have numerous bibles,” the presumed GOP presidential candidate for 2024 added, calling it his “favorite book” and asserting that “all Americans need a bible in their house.”
“There is an attack against Christians. Pro-God information has to be safeguarded. We cherish God. We also need to defend anything that supports God,” stated Trump. “We need to reintroduce Christianity into our lives and into the future of our beautiful country.”
Rep. Liz Cheney, a former member of the GOP and vocal opponent of President Trump, tweeted, “You should definitely purchase a Bible instead of selling it. Including Exodus 20:14, read it.
The passage to which Cheney alludes is “Thou shall not commit adultery.”
Kinzinger, another outspoken opponent of Trump who supported impeaching the former president during the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021 said:
“The fact that Donald is now making money off of Bible sales is evidence that he is a fake prophet. Pastors take note: You will answer for the way you guided your flock. Trump is a disgrace to both God and the United States.”
