Anti-Cop Celebrities Find A New Way To Influence America

Anti-Cop Celebrities Find A New Way To Influence America

One week before the midterm elections, Pennsylvania Democrat U.S. Senate contender John Fetterman is bragging about his backing from anti-police funding Hollywood celebrities.

Fetterman, who has repeatedly criticized Republican Senate candidate Mehmet Oz for his celeb status, is utilizing endorsements from actress Kerry Washington as well as artist John Legend to sway voters in his favor.

“Kerry is on #TeamFetterman and would like to ask if you’re able to Manage It + contribute $10 before our last end-of-month cutoff tonight,” Fetterman posted on Monday.

During the summer of 2020 rioting in the aftermath of George Floyd’s killing, Washington pushed for police defunding and urged local governments to “put more resources toward community-led answers, not a system that continues to murder us and put us all in cages.”

Fetterman also expressed gratitude for Legend’s assistance, saying he is “*so* appreciative.”

Legend also supported police defunding in the summer of 2020. Legend stated that “there should be considerably fewer police” and advocated for “removing police funds and redirecting it to community needs.”

The endorsements of Washington and Legends are the latest examples of Fetterman snuggling up to individuals and organizations advocating for police defunding.

Fetterman campaigned alongside three pro-defund-the-police Philly city councilors last month, whom he praised as “excellent.”

Fetterman appeared on a show hosted by an anti-police advocacy organization in 2021 to brag about how he expedited felon pardons.

“I would love to talk about pardons if I had a few minutes. I’m the chairman of the Board of Pardons, and Julie is joining us as our Western Pennsylvania pardons coordinator,” Fetterman explained. “I really want to sell it since I’m Lieutenant Gov. for another two years and we’ve sped up the pardon procedure now. They’re also free; there’s no application cost.”

Fetterman has stated that releasing one-third of the state’s number of inmates would “not make anyone less safe in Pennsylvania.”

Dr. Mehmet Oz, the Republican Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, talks on September 8, 2022, in Springfield, PA.

Fetterman, who has struggled with communication disorders since suffering a stroke in May, debated Oz last week while using a closed-captioning technology to assist with auditory processing difficulties. In the debate, the overwhelming majority of viewers, 82 percent, thought Oz excelled Fetterman.

After Fetterman’s terrible debate performance, a recent survey revealed that Oz leads Fetterman by three points.
