Tim Walz Can't Even Win His Own State Anymore — Polls Below Trump in Minnesota

Tim Walz, the man Democrats hand-picked to deliver the heartland, now polls below President Trump in his own state of Minnesota — a humiliation so complete it practically writes its own punchline.

According to a Mason-Dixon Polling and Strategy survey conducted June 8-10, 2026, Walz's approval has cratered to just 39% among 800 likely Minnesota voters, with 53% disapproving and 8% unsure. That's a 10-point nosedive from a year ago and the lowest mark of his entire eight-year tenure as governor. Meanwhile, President Trump sits at 41% approval in the same state. Let that sink in — Trump is more popular in Minnesota than the guy who actually governs it.

The margin of error is ±3.5 percentage points, which means the gap could be even wider. Sleep tight, Tim.

The demographic breakdown is brutal. Only 1% of Republicans approve of Walz. One percent. That's not a political coalition — that's a rounding error. Independents aren't much kinder at 32%. Even among Democrats, he's only pulling 73%, which sounds fine until you realize he used to be their golden boy.

Here's the number that should terrify every Democrat strategist in the country: among voters who backed Kamala Harris in the last election, Walz's support has plummeted from 91% to 69%. He's losing his own team's fans. That's not erosion — that's a landslide, and Walz is standing at the bottom of it.

The reason isn't hard to find. Minnesota's massive benefit fraud scandal — the one Democrats have spent years pretending doesn't exist — is dragging Walz down like an anchor tied to a bowling ball. A full 23% of voters call fraud the single biggest problem facing the state, with another 58% calling it a major problem. That's 81% of Minnesota saying fraud is a serious issue, and 33% blame Walz directly for it.

When asked which party voters trust more to fix the fraud mess, 45% said Republicans compared to just 38% who said Democrats. Another 14% trust neither, which is still not great news for the guy in charge.

As reported by 100 Percent Fed Up, Walz's collapse extends beyond fraud. Even his pet project — the controversial state flag redesign — is underwater, with 50% of voters disapproving.

Remember, this is the man Kamala Harris chose specifically because he was supposed to be Mr. Midwest. The folksy dad-coach who'd lock down the blue wall. Instead, he can't even lock down his own state. Trump is beating him at home, his own voters are abandoning ship, and the fraud scandal keeps getting worse.

Walz was supposed to be the Democrats' heartland whisperer. Turns out the heartland heard him just fine — and it doesn't like what he's saying.
