Political experts in Pennsylvania, a key swing state, are telling voters that the 2024 presidential election results might not be ready on November 8, 2024.
The Fox News story comes at a time when former President Trump (R) and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), are running against VP Kamala Harris (D) and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), who is very liberal.
The article said:
“The Republican governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, appointed Al Schmidt as secretary of state in 2023. Schmidt is now telling voters that state law says county boards of elections can’t start processing mail-in ballots until 7 a.m. on Election Day. This is to avoid the same controversy that happened four years ago.”
Schmidt, a former Philadelphia city commissioner who fought with Trump online after the 2020 election, told Fox News Digital that the term for what they were doing was “pre-canvassing.” The county boards can start that process earlier in a lot of other places, whether it’s three days, seven days, or longer. In Pennsylvania, however, counties can’t start that process until 7 a.m. on election day.
The state of Pennsylvania warned in early November 2020 that completing mail-in ballots, votes at the polls, and postal ballots could take several days, Breitbart News reported November 2.
A Breitbart News article from November 10, 2020, said that Republican members of the state’s House of Representatives asked for an audit of the election results to be done by the legislature. They also said that the results “not be certified, or electors be seated, until a complete audit is done.”
It’s important to remember that a Marist poll from June found that Trump was just ahead of President Joe Biden (D) in Pennsylvania. This was before Biden dropped out of the race.
Breitbart News reported on August 19 that a more recent poll showed Trump ahead of Harris in Pennsylvania before the Democratic National Convention (DNC).
The Insider Advantage poll, which asked 800 potential voters between August 18 and 19, 2024, had a ± 3.5 percent margin of error and found that Trump beat Harris by just one point, 47% to 46%.
