Newly released emails have confirmed what many of us already knew: the federal government, under the failed leadership of Joe Biden and his health bureaucrats, ignored real science to push a political agenda. Dr. Anthony Fauci, former NIH Director Francis Collins, and other top officials knew full well that natural immunity to COVID-19—especially after a serious infection—was stronger than the protection offered by vaccines. But instead of being honest with the American people, they chose to bury the truth.

The emails, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by Protect the Public’s Trust, show these bureaucrats discussing how to spin the data. One Israeli study, which followed nearly 800,000 people, showed that natural immunity was 13 times more protective than the Pfizer shot when it came to reinfection, and 27 times more protective against symptomatic COVID. Fauci himself called the study “rather impressive.” So what did they do with this information? They ignored it.

Instead of using the facts to guide policy, they decided natural immunity was just too inconvenient. Fauci admitted the truth in a private meeting: it was “too nuanced” to explain to the public. In other words, the government thought Americans were too dumb to understand. So rather than tailoring policy based on real risk and real immunity, they ordered everyone—young, old, healthy, or sick—to get the jab, no questions asked.

Why? Because it was easier for them. Not better for us, not based on science, not grounded in freedom or truth—just easier for the bureaucrats. As Paul Offit, a former FDA adviser, later admitted, the government rejected natural immunity as an exemption to vaccine mandates because it would’ve been too difficult “bureaucratically” to verify who had recovered from COVID. That’s not a good reason to override people’s rights. That’s an excuse, and it’s shameful.

Meanwhile, American taxpayers were forced to rely on data from Israel and other countries to get the truth about this virus and the vaccines. Billions of dollars went to agencies like the CDC and NIH, and yet they couldn’t—or wouldn’t—do the basic work of studying how natural immunity compared to vaccines. Why? Because they didn’t want the answer.

Instead, they used cherry-picked and weak studies, like one from Kentucky with only a few hundred people, to support their mandates. That study wasn’t peer-reviewed, and it didn’t even compare vaccination to natural immunity alone—it compared vaccination to *no* vaccination after infection. It was dishonest from the start, and they promoted it anyway.

This entire episode proves just how broken our public health system had become under Biden’s leadership. These agencies weren’t following the science. They were following the politics. They were more interested in controlling the message than understanding the virus. And worst of all, they were willing to sacrifice your freedom—and your health—for the sake of a narrative.

Protect the Public’s Trust has filed a formal complaint with the Department of Health and Human Services, pointing out how the CDC misled the public. But more than just a complaint is needed. What we need is a full overhaul—a draining of the swamp in every agency that put politics above people.

Under President Trump, we saw efforts to cut through the bureaucracy and put Americans first. We need that energy again. Because government officials who lie to the people, who hide real science, and who trample on our rights should not have jobs. They should be held accountable.
