First and Second Ladies Honor Marines with Heartfelt Visit

This week, First Lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Usha Vance traveled to Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to honor the men and women who proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, their visit was a sincere show of gratitude to our military families—the backbone of American strength.

This wasn’t just another photo-op. It was a heartfelt moment that reminded us all of what matters most: faith, family, and freedom. Standing in a hangar filled with brave Marines and their loved ones, Melania Trump called military families “the quiet strength of our nation.” She spoke with the kind of grace and sincerity we’ve come to expect from her, saying, “Your love, patience, and courage give our service members the confidence to serve with honor and the comfort of knowing home is always waiting.” These words weren’t just polite. They were powerful.

Usha Vance, wife of Vice President JD Vance, also addressed the crowd, praising the Marines and their families at Camp Lejeune. She shared a personal connection, noting that her husband had once served at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, not far from where they stood. Her presence wasn’t just symbolic—it was personal and real. She understands the life of a military spouse because she lived it.

This was the first time the First and Second Ladies traveled together without their husbands since the Trump administration began, and they made it count. They weren’t there to push some political agenda or pose for cameras—they were there to serve. They visited local schools on base, spoke with students, and helped pack care packages for the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is currently deployed in the Caribbean. These women rolled up their sleeves and got to work, showing what true leadership looks like.

Let’s not forget the context here. The Marines of the 22nd MEU are now stationed near Latin America as part of Operation Southern Spear. These warriors are on the front lines of a growing mission to crush the drug cartels that poison our country with fentanyl and other deadly substances. President Trump has made it clear: America will no longer sit back while criminal networks flood our streets with drugs. Under his leadership, U.S. forces have launched lethal strikes against drug boats in the Caribbean and Pacific. And he’s not ruling out further action—even on land—in places like Venezuela.

This is what strength looks like. This is what putting America first means. While the weak globalists of the past cowered and apologized, President Trump is standing tall, using the full force of our military to protect our borders and our families.

Brigadier General Ralph J. Rizzo Jr. summed it up best when he said, “As we enter the Thanksgiving holiday, a season centered on gratitude, it is deeply meaningful to welcome the First and Second Ladies, who have come here for exactly that purpose.” Gratitude. That’s what this visit was about. And in a time when our values are under attack, it’s refreshing to see our leaders take the time to honor those who defend them.

America is blessed to have a First Lady like Melania Trump—elegant, strong, and deeply patriotic. We’re also blessed to have a Second Lady like Usha Vance, who understands what it means to sacrifice for this country. Together, they showed the American people what real leadership, real thankfulness, and real patriotism look like.

We owe our freedom to the men and women in uniform and the families who support them. And thanks to leaders like Melania Trump, Usha Vance, and President Trump, we are once again standing tall, proud, and unafraid. This Thanksgiving, let’s give thanks not only for our blessings but for the warriors who protect them.
