Gun Roundup Humiliation – ATF Leader Said This ON AIR

Democratic ATF Director Steven Dettelbach made a number of blunders on firearms in an interview that aired over the weekend.

In an interview with Margaret Brennan for CBS News’ “Face The Nation,” Dettelbach tried what he said were ways for individuals to get past gun rules while standing in front of a table full of weapons.

Dettelbach showed that he was ignorant of fundamental weapon terms, such as the distinction between a magazine and a clip, while discussing the maximum number of bullets that various AK version rifles could fire.

Shortly after, he revealed his ignorance of the term “pistol brace” by implying that it was interchangeable with a buttstock. With pistol braces, the user of the handgun may insert their wrist through the device and tighten it around their wrist with a piece of velcro, enabling one-handed firing of the weapon.

Brennan handled the interview in a way that made it obvious that the piece was meant to be propaganda for gun regulation. She promoted the myth that the Second Amendment was meant for “hunting,” standing with her arms crossed and displaying distaste. Self-defense and a check on oppressive government policies are the two main goals of the Second Amendment.

Additionally, Dettelbach advised gun retailers to call the ATF so they may look into clients who are paying with cash and refuse to sell specific sorts of guns, such as high-caliber rifles, to them.

“And as Americans, I hope and expect that we will do that for others who aren’t doing it,” he remarked. We sincerely hope that people will continue to support us as Americans and refrain from making that sale in order to preserve our safety, but for those who aren’t, someone walks into your store in a border state and pays $12,000 cash for one of these [.50 caliber rifles].

He pleaded, “Those who are going to be at the counter, thinking about it, please not let this happen. I’m just sort of performing a little bit of a commercial.” “Help us put an end to this, please. We respect you. You are essential to us. As gun merchants, please assist us in putting an end to this.”

He said that “all sorts of warning bells should be going off” and that the gun dealer should not sell to a man and woman if the male asks all the questions and then has the lady buy the pistol.

In the interview, Dettelbach stated that his agency, with thousands of agents, was “way, way, far too tiny” during the sit-down section.

Brennan also set up a question for Dettelbach, asking him to explain how the ATF’s mission was “impedimented” by Congress’s protection of Americans’ privacy and Second Amendment rights by forbidding the ATF from establishing a nationwide gun registry.
