According to the Claremont Institute’s most recent database tracking the donations made to woke groups, corporate America has contributed a staggering $82 billion and rising to the Black Lives Matter movement and associated causes.
The American Way of Life project at Claremont includes the BLM Funding Database. The $82.9 billion that has already been donated, according to Claremont, “includes more than $123 million to the BLM partner organizations directly, in a post announcing the new tool. Even though these numbers are stunning, they probably underestimate the real scope of the shakedown because many BLM organizations are still unidentified and several firms neglected to disclose their payments.”
A number of organizations profited from Corporate America’s readiness to submit to the mob in the wake of the George Floyd riots and the hundreds of people that rioted in 2020. The cash windfall that such organizations receive as a result is quite astounding. For instance, BlackRock has promised these organizations $810 million.
The database states that Blackrock “implemented a $10M action plan, including $5M to groups supporting racial fairness, $5M funds to boost Black and Latinx social enterprises and a doubling of its employee philanthropic gift matching program from $5K to $10K for each donation. Also, an $800 million Impact Opportunities Fund was formed to support initiatives or businesses that support BIPOC populations. By May 2022, about $80 million of the capital had been used.”
More than $73 million was donated to BLM and affiliated organizations by the now-famous Silicon Valley Bank, which detractors have claimed collapsed in part as a result of its emphasis on woke causes.
Even worse, evidence suggests that just a small portion of the funds listed in Claremont’s database truly support underprivileged Black People. However, as revealed by Daily Wire anchor Candace Owens’ documentary, “The Biggest Deception Ever Sold,” it frequently supports pernicious notions like radical gender theory as well as the financial enrichment of BLM movement leaders.
The fact that Big Business supports leftist organizations that are frequently hostile to capitalism is not exactly news, but the accumulation of data on dollar quantities really provides a picture of how much money is backing the most recent incarnation of America’s Cultural Revolution. People who reject this madness fight not only against Big Government, Dems., and academia but also against corporations.
