NYC Liberals Stunned By Immigration Blow Back

This week, in New York City, New York, protesters in front of a former assisted living facility that is now a center for migrants stopped illegal immigrants from getting off their bus for a few hours.

The Daily Mail said that about ten protesters were held in Staten Island after a video captured them beating on bus windows and yelling, “Take them back,” which stopped migrants from getting into the shelter.

A protester who fought against being arrested hurt a police officer’s knee.

Major Eric Adams (D) of New York City is facing a humanitarian disaster because the city is taking care of 60,000 refugees. This is why there is a protest.

Adams spoke out against the protest and called it an “ugly display.”

“We cannot let the small minority that’s exhibiting an unsightly representation of our handling of the crisis be held up as a model for what New Yorkers are doing,” Adams remarked. “I know how frustrated New Yorkers are, and I also know how frustrated asylum seekers are.”

He forewarned that the city’s expenditures for parks, fire protection, and sanitation will total $4 billion this year alone due to the migrant inflow.

The number of refuge seekers in the city is expected to reach nearly 33,980 families by the end of this fiscal year.

Adams claimed that in order to create space in the budget for migrant accommodations, the city intends to eliminate programs like senior citizen lunches, library hours, and free full-day child care for three-year-olds.

Mayor Adams has asked President Biden to help the city by sending aid:

“I hope he knows that this beautiful city, which is the economic engine of the whole country, is being loaded with $2 billion that we’ve already spent, $5 billion that we are going to be spending in this fiscal crisis, and $12 billion in the following two budget cycles. This is not fair to New York. The people trying to get refuge don’t deserve this.”

The federal government has said it will help New York City with $140 million, but the city has not yet gotten the money.
