Zohran Mamdani, a radical Democratic Socialist running for mayor of New York City, just said something that should alarm every freedom-loving American. In an interview on Fox News, Mamdani claimed that New York City should enforce an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—if he ever visits the city.
Let’s be clear: the ICC is a foreign court that the United States does not recognize. We never signed their treaty. We don’t follow their rulings. And there’s a good reason for that. Our Constitution puts American sovereignty first. The Founders never intended for foreign courts to have power over our leaders or our allies. Yet here comes Mamdani, a man running to govern America’s largest city, siding with unelected global bureaucrats over the leader of a free nation that’s been one of our strongest allies.
This is not just outrageous. It’s dangerous.
When asked by Fox News’ Martha MacCallum if the United States supports the ICC, Mamdani admitted that we do not. But he still insisted that New York City should uphold an ICC arrest warrant if Netanyahu came to town. He even suggested that he would “exhaust every legal option” to make that happen.
Let’s think this through. A mayor of an American city wants to arrest the elected leader of a democratic ally because of a foreign court’s decision. Not because of U.S. law. Not because of any crime committed on American soil. But because of an international political agenda that America has outright rejected.
That’s not law and order. That’s lawlessness disguised as justice.
And Mamdani didn’t stop there. He refused to say whether New York’s police commissioner would go along with such a plan. He danced around the question, showing either he doesn’t understand the limits of his power—or worse, that he doesn’t care.
This is what happens when you put radicals in positions of influence. They don’t believe in America First. They don’t believe in putting our Constitution, our sovereignty, or our allies before the demands of the global elite. They side with terrorist-apologists and foreign powers rather than standing up for freedom and democracy.
Mamdani also refused to give President Donald Trump any credit for helping secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas last week. Even after the President led the way in de-escalating the violence, Mamdani brushed it off, saying it was “too early” to give credit. That’s not leadership. That’s petty politics.
And when asked directly whether Hamas should lay down its arms—something any decent leader should agree with—he dodged the question. He wouldn’t say the terrorist group should stop its attacks. Instead, he gave a vague answer about “international law” and “justice,” as if that’s a good excuse for ignoring terrorism.
This is the kind of thinking that’s infecting our cities. Anti-American, anti-Israel, anti-truth. And it’s gaining ground. Polls are showing support for Mamdani’s extreme views, and that should worry every single voter who still believes in the values that made this country great.
America needs leaders who will defend our sovereignty, stand with our allies, and fight for justice—not those who take orders from global courts and refuse to call out evil when they see it.
Mamdani is running against Republican Curtis Sliwa and Democrat Andrew Cuomo. In Thursday’s upcoming debate, voters will get a closer look at what each candidate stands for. Let’s hope they see the truth: Mamdani’s vision for New York is not one of freedom, peace, or justice. It’s one of chaos, lawlessness, and disgrace.
This is still the United States of America. We do not answer to the ICC. We do not betray our allies. And we do not hand over our laws and our streets to foreign powers or radical ideologues. Not now. Not ever.
